Is HR a stressful job?

By Zippia Team - Nov. 2, 2021

Yes, HR is a stressful job. Working in human resources (HR) can be very stressful, especially for management level professionals, due to their efforts to comply with company policies and governmental laws.

When surveyed, 90 percent of human resources professionals reported that their stress has increased in the last year. In comparison, only about nine percent said their stress levels remained about the same, and just one percent said it decreased.

With tight deadlines, long work hours, and a high work volume, HR can be an exhausting profession to work in. Furthermore, dealing with challenging employees and coming up with strategies around the clock to satisfy both the management and employees can be challenging.

Human resource managers play a huge role in ensuring a company's success, but the job isn't easy. It involves working with management to make sure employees get the support and nurturing environment they need.
