This question is about DLA Piper and DLA Piper jobs.
The hiring process at DLA Piper is multifaceted and a bit arduous. It involves just an online application, phone screening, assessment test, and multiple interview rounds. The entire hiring process takes anywhere from three to eight weeks, including the employee drug test and background check.
DLA Piper's Application Process:
Submit an online application form to complete the first stage of the hiring process. To submit an application and to learn more about available positions, check out DLA Piper career website. The online application asks basic questions about your demonstration and contact information, along with an option to upload relevant documents such as a resume.
To make your application, DLA Piper also suggests additional uploaded documents, such as cover letters, work samples, transcripts, and certifications.
DLA Piper's Phone Screening:
Once an applicant is considered for a position, an HR recruiter does an initial phone screening. The call is fairly casual and lasts between ten to 15 minutes. It's a chance for you to get to learn more about the position and company. If all goes well, towards the end of the call, the recruiter provides information on the next stage of the hiring process, the assessment test.
DLA Piper's Assessment Test:
All applicants must complete an online assessment test prior to being invited to an on-site interview. The assessment test includes two parts - the first is a general aptitude test and the second is customized law questions depending on the position that you're applying to.
In the end, you are invited to an HR interview and be asked questions related to behaviors and past experiences.
In some cases, you may be asked to complete the Watson test, which includes 40 logic questions. Each candidate has up to 14 days to complete the assessment stage of the hiring process.
DLA Piper's Interview Round:
Depending on the position, candidates may be asked to come in for a full day or half-day of interviews. The interviews may vary from group exercises, mock scenarios, group panels, and one-on-ones.
Anticipate a lot of strengths-based questions and questions about the firm and commercial law. Make sure to dress the part (very corporate) as DLA Piper cares very much about that.
An example of a full-day interview at DLA Piper:

A group interview with potential team and leadership

A strengths-based interview with a partner, around 45 minutes
