The Role We Want You For
As a Project Director, you will be based on the construction project site and provide leadership on projects as the "single point of contact" for the owner, design department, and the project staff for a data center project. Ensure quality and timely execution of design-build projects from design to completion and deliver the best solutions on projects valued anywhere from a $60 million to over $250 million. At Clayco, The Project Director will work with marketing, pre-construction services, business unit leaders, and mentoring Project Managers and Engineers and have overall responsibility for these projects.
The Specifics of the Role
Build client and subcontractor relationships.
Team with Architects, Engineers, and Planners to create and manage a design schedule.
Establish project forecasts and budgets.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related.
15-20 years of experience managing construction projects ($100+ million) ideally design-build.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
Previous experience leading a successful project management team.
Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and scale multi-floor scaffolding.
Ability to lift objects of at least 50 lbs.

The Project Executive is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the strategic as well as the day-to-day operations for all Construction, Project Management and Project Administration activities. Has overall responsibility for maintaining budgets, timelines and profitability for assigned projects. Assists in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to achieve established corporate goals and support the corporate mission statement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provide operational oversight in the areas of client management, procedural issues, financial and reporting issues, and workforce planning and analysis.
Actively manage the workload, professional development, and client development skills of project management staff.
Promote positive customer relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all contractors, subcontractors and vendors, and continually instilling this philosophy in the project team with regard to safety, quality, customer service and profitability.
Initiate, execute, and document a quality job start-up meeting for your project(s).
Manage and maintain “Strategic Partner” subcontractor and vendor relationships, including verification of timely payment.
Perform monthly project reviews with project teams to ensure adherence to schedules, quality of work, safety, administration and profitability.
Analyze available and qualified personnel and make specific project assignments to meet project needs.
Assist the PMs and Superintendents with resolution of specific issues and requests.
Manage customer relations and change order negotiations.
Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc.
Represent the Company at project Senior Management meetings.
Schedule, facilitate, and document project close out meetings. Verify project data sheets and photos (with client's permission) for all completed projects.

Execute development strategies for projects and programs that balance risk, system reliability, resource adequacy, financial investment, customer cost, and executability of complex projects and programs. Aggregates, priorities and optimizes the portfolio of proposed capital projects within and across the operating business unit, the operations enterprise and the operating company. Accountability can include significant capital projects per planning cycle.
* Leads cross functional teams to perform preliminary design and project development activities which result in robust foundation for packages for capital projects and programs. Performs tasks and activities to develop deliverables which include, but is not limited to, a defined project scope, justified business case, alternatives assessment, technology due diligence, cost estimates, project schedules, preliminary engineering designs, permitting strategy, procurement strategy, construction, and overall execution strategy. Provides assurance for the application of technical specifications, best practices and continuous improvement across capital project portfolio. Ensures an effective project handover to Operations and a robust feedback loop for continuous improvement.
* Provides technical analysis, supporting documentation, and testimony for public utility commission filings and permit filings, and submittal requirements. Obtains financial/tax incentives and grants, and regulatory approvals. Participates in public meetings and forums. Represents Xcel Energy in stakeholder meetings. Advances projects and programs to the Investment Review Council (IRC), Finance Council (FC) and board of directors per governance requirements.
* Establish and foster successful partnerships with Operations, Operating Companies and Corporate organizations. Develop and maintain effective relationships with other jurisdictional, business units and corporate peers, to ensure timely, effective information sharing and best practices implementation. Build and maintain external relationships in common areas of expertise.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, construction management or project management from an accredited college or university.

* Minimum of 10 years' combined experience in project management, engineering, construction, operations and/or maintenance for energy assets.
* Demonstrated knowledge of gas, electric distribution, transmission and/or energy supply business area functions.

Project Admin will be responsible for processing drawings, RFI submittals and project documentation, and coordination on all our new build projects within energy supply's strategic projects group; new wind farms, solar projects, repowers and other major capital projects. Most projects will be 15MM.
Project Admin Responsibilities:
+ Will be working from a shared email box/alias
+ Heavy email correspondence, and utilizing OneNote to track the submittals
+ manage when the due dates are for information to go back to the suppliers
+ Responsible for staying on top of the drawings; routing to a group of people who have
+ Heavy project coordination and staying on top of deadlines
+ Working with project packages, printing packages, prepare packages as there is a component in this department where they do print a lot of hard copy large format drawings for projects.
+ Must be willing to be up from their desk working at a printer, gathering large format documentation, getting it packaged for shipment.
+ Bind large 11x17 bound books containing drawings and project documentation to send to the construction sites.
Project Administrator Required Skill Set:
+ 2-4 years of experience working in a construction job site environment (open to a bit less experience if resource has some type of business/construction management schooling/degree and/or any administrative certifications).
+ Experience with RFI's, correspondence.
