What You'll Do:
Primary responsibility will be managing field operations and contract administration including safety, personnel, subcontract scheduling, material and equipment procurement and schedule
Safety planning will play a critical role in all planning and field operations activities
Contract management from the standpoint of identifying potential change orders, changes in scope, changes in field conditions, changes in ability to perform as bid with means and methods

Submit monthly cost to complete projections
Manage the contract value amount as it is affected by weather, changed conditions, authorized change orders, pending change orders, and accurate quantities completed
Weekly quantities completed accurately reported and compiled in Viewpoint
Budget changes completed accurately on a weekly basis
Prior experience managing various road & highway projects is vital to the success of this role.
Location & Travel Details: This location-based position encompasses worksites throughout the assigned project area (Central, IL) and requires an average of 50% travel (e.g. 2 weeks or 10 days per month). A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. When overnight travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided.

Nexamp is looking to hire a Senior Construction Superintendent (SCS). This role is a critical leadership position empowered to make independent decisions that directly impact the safety, performance, and operational success of a portfolio of solar construction projects. The SCS serves as a critical decision-maker in matters of jobsite compliance, team deployment, subcontractor performance, and adherence to construction standards and policies.
In this role, you will support solar projects in the Springfield, IL region. You will report to the Regional Construction Manager.
What you'll do:
Directly supervises 3-12 contingent Construction Superintendents (CS) across active solar project sites, in coordination with Agency Partners. Assigns site leadership roles, monitors CS performance, and provides coaching and feedback.
Exercise discretion in identifying and responding to safety, quality, and compliance issues. Empowered to stop work, redirect resources, or mandate changes without prior approval.
Evaluate the performance of subcontractors in the field and provide recommendations that directly inform contract renewal, termination, or future engagement decisions. These evaluations materially affect vendor relationships and project outcomes.
Interpret and enforce company policies and OSHA, SWPPP, and site-specific standards in dynamic field conditions.
Lead the onboarding and ongoing training of site-level superintendents and field personnel.
Work with the Construction Manager on staffing strategy, including hiring, reassignment, and termination decisions for contingent CS roles.
Monitor project progress and risks; recommend changes to staffing, scheduling, or scope to meet objectives.
Hold final responsibility for review and close out compliance documentation, QA/QC reports, and inspection logs within Procore or other systems of record.
Serve as a subject matter expert on solar construction methods, compliance, and site logistics.
Advise senior leadership on operational performance, training standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Represent company interests with subcontractors, vendors, and on-site stakeholders.
Leads 3-12 contingent Construction Superintendents across multiple sites.
Participates in and significantly influences staffing decisions including hiring, deployment, and performance feedback.

What you'll bring:
3-5 years of construction management experience, preferably in the solar industry, with a successful track record in project management .

Maintains professional licenses in trade (i.e. CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.)

Compensation
The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $105,000 - $135,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company's stock option plan. Construction Services Plan, schedule, and manage the operations of Facilities & Services' Construction Services department. Supervises direct reports and performs other functions in support of the Construction Services department. Duties & Responsibilities
* Acts as Construction Services liaison to campus units

* Manages and enforces applicable University processes and regulations for both F&S and departmental coordinated Work delivered through the Contractor Services portal. Performs risk assessments of proposed Work to determine resources needed to successfully complete the work, including but not limited to staff from: Construction Services, Procurement/Receiving, Design Services, Commissioning & Inspection, etc
* Performs supervisory duties for direct reports, including assigning and reviewing project work, time-reporting review, leave approval, evaluations, discipline, support staffing needs (such as: training, equipment, vehicles, office supplies, safety training, etc.), and other duties as needed and as assigned.
* Develop and establish construction means and methods that seek to improve operational efficiency and project success. Assist with preparation and implementation of Facilities & Services policies and procedures related to project construction.
* Continual personal, professional and organizational development through resources such as: APPA, MAPPA, CITES Training Services, Center for Training and Professional Development, etc... Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, or 10 years work experience in the construction industry if a bachelor's degree is in an unrelated field. 2. A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible management experience with construction projects is required.
Preferred Qualifications
1. A minimum of five years' experience supervising skilled and semi-skilled crafts workers is preferred.
2. Extensive knowledge of current software and procedures related to project management, including scheduling, estimating tools, AiM, and Contractor Services Request Portal.

* 1. The ability to supervise the work of a construction unit is a must as is sound analytical and planning skills while possessing strong communication skills with the ability to deal diplomatically with clients at all levels.

Drive a company vehicle to locations designated by customers.
