You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development.     Job Description SLS is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join a fast-growing and dynamic Federal Services Division in pursuit of heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the Southwestern United States. The Project Superintendent will be responsible for managing all construction efforts of subcontractors and self-performing crews to ensure the project is delivered safely on time, on budget, and of the highest quality. The Project Superintendent will report to the Project Manager or Project Executive and will regularly interface with Client representatives. The Federal Services Division has a growing backlog of civil infrastructure projects across the Southwestern United States and is aggressively pursuing additional project opportunities with federal clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and U.S. Department of State (DOS). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as Project Superintendent reporting to an experienced Project Manager or Project Executive Manage and maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests. Project Overview: Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Job Summary: Provides support to more experienced construction engineering personnel by performing routine construction engineering assignments. Assigned to a discipline position within a construction organization in an administrative or technical capacity. Reviews and interprets working drawings to determine if information is adequate for successful completion of construction. Completes assigned tasks under routine supervision and technical direction. #LI-BH1 Major Responsibilities: * Inspects construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications and codes. * Reviews design drawings for constructability. * Prepares material requisitions, as assigned. * Assists supervisory personnel in phases of construction engineering and installation of materials and equipment, as assigned. Inputs to quantity tracking databases and other computer databases as required. May prepare material and installation portions of subcontract bid packages. * Prepares daily progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports and keeps supervisors informed on progress of assigned tasks. * Reviews project design and engineering documents to ensure their completeness. * Prepares change notices and amendments, as directed. * Monitors the cost versus budget performance during construction, as assigned. * Assists the project controls engineers in their functions and performs planning and scheduling as directed. * Assists other construction engineers as required. * Revises prints as indicated by drawing change notices; field sketches, and as built drawings. * Strong knowledge of MS Access Education and Experience Requirements: * Required Degree in technical related field. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards. Required Knowledge and Skills: * Educational training in general engineering techniques and procedures gained through courses in an engineering discipline, mathematics, contract law or courses requiring extensive work in developing comprehensive end result products based on extensive research, * AND/OR Actual work experience providing exposure and on-the-job training in a technical or administrative position supporting construction engineers or superintendents, * AND/OR Basic knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. * Familiar with Bechtel's Business Ethics handbook and policies. * Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident safety program. Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
