The Demand Analyst will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end monthly reporting for the Consensus Demand Planning process, including collaborative reporting globally across multiple functions within the organization & with external partners. Using KPI metrics, statistical models, and market analysis, the demand analyst will evaluate submitted forecasts and assess how proposed demand events may impact sales volume.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Forecast evaluation and analysis - Analyze and evaluate submitted demand forecasts using statistical models and market analysis, assess the impact of proposed demand events on sales volume, inventory levels, identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks in demand forecasts.
Facilitate meetings and discussions to develop reporting and key metrics for presentations and key analysis to support the development of a rolling 24-month baseline demand forecast using statistical analysis and cross-functional inputs.
Documents and creates scenario planning for future initiatives (New Product Introduction / NPI) and state of the business, including opportunity/risk assumptions, Inventory Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) reserves, and cannibalization.
Collaborates with key Demand-side stakeholders for inputs in a manner that ensures their tasks are intuitive, so that little to no training is required for success, and streamlined, so that it takes little time.
Aids in the discussions at for demand planning multiple monthly Consensus Meetings and the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Demand Review.
Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to support the evaluation of Demand Plan performance, improvement efforts, problem-solving, and Demand shaping initiatives.
Create data visualizations and manage KPIs including eliminating Demand Plan bias, reduce error and smooth Demand volatility while comparing forecast to financial budgets and explaining differences, develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track demand planning performance, present insights and recommendations based on KPI analysis to stakeholders.
Continuously improve demand planning processes, tools, and methodologies, implement best practices and innovative approaches to enhance forecast accuracy, and collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize demand planning systems.
Communicate key insights and demand planning updates to relevant stakeholders; work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to align on demand expectations; prepare and deliver presentations on demand analysis; and forecast performance.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of demand planning data, maintain and update demand planning databases and systems, and conduct regular data validation and reconciliation to support reliable forecasting.
Analyzes demand used for calculating inventory turns and proposes targeted promotions/discounting to reduce E&O reserves.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply and Logistics or related field required or a combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in demand planning or a related analytical role and strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong time management skills needed to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and manage complex problems and projects and collaborate on business intelligence (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview, SAP Analytics Cloud preferred) and data solutions.
Experience in regulated industry manufacturing, preferably med-device, to proactively anticipate and address potential issues and exceptions.
APICS/ASCM/IBF certification or Operations/Industrial Management education/certification a plus.
Proven proficiency with working with data from ERPs (SAP(IBP), Kinaxis, Logility, O9 or similar experience demand planning software preferred), Microsoft Office (proficient with Excel and PowerPoint), Forecast Models, and Inventory Strategies.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, including working with Sales, Product & Supply teams.

The Data Analyst serves as the primary resource for operational reporting and data validation across the organization. This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of quantitative analyses and communication of findings for a portfolio of long-term monitoring projects in and around National Parks and protected areas.

+ Participates in NPS research study design and analysis teams.
+ Responsible for analysis of complex study designs and analysis. This will include the use of statistical randomization procedures such as the Generalized Random Tessellation Stratified ( GRTS ) design approach commonly used in contemporary ecological studies where robust inference and analytical flexibility is required. Analyses of long-term trends in populations and ecosystems where rotating panel designs and unequal-probability design weights need to be accounted for, as well as challenges including imperfect detection and missing data. Approaches required may include Bayesian methods with informative priors.
+ Interprets and draws conclusions from analyses that will be used to inform NPS and partner agency management decisions about restoration and conservation actions such as species habitat requirements and efficacy of actions such as herbicide applications.
+ Report findings in technical reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts; makes recommendations to the NPS I&M for interpretation and translation into management strategies.

What We Require
Two years of research experience independently gathering, compiling, and analyzing data using statistical methods (inferential, multivariate analysis, etc.); using statistical software packages to manipulate the data; and preparing narrative or statistical reports and college-level course in statistics (at least six quarter hours); OR An equivalent combination of training and experience. Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of quantitative analyses and communication of findings for a portfolio of long-term monitoring projects in and around National Parks and protected areas.
70% Data analysis
* Participates in NPS research study design and analysis teams.
* Responsible for analysis of complex study designs and analysis. This will include the use of statistical randomization procedures such as the Generalized Random Tessellation Stratified (GRTS) design approach commonly used in contemporary ecological studies where robust inference and analytical flexibility is required. Analyses of long-term trends in populations and ecosystems where rotating panel designs and unequal-probability design weights need to be accounted for, as well as challenges including imperfect detection and missing data. Approaches required may include Bayesian methods with informative priors.
* Interprets and draws conclusions from analyses that will be used to inform NPS and partner agency management decisions about restoration and conservation actions such as species habitat requirements and efficacy of actions such as herbicide applications.
* Report findings in technical reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts; makes recommendations to the NPS I&M for interpretation and translation into management strategies.
20% Science communication and decision support
* Responsible for refining existing and establishing new analytical and science communication techniques for use with NPS managers.
10% Teamwork, including effective participation in Lab strategic planning
What We Require
Two years of research experience independently gathering, compiling, and analyzing data using statistical methods (inferential, multivariate analysis, etc.); using statistical software packages to manipulate the data; and preparing narrative or statistical reports and college-level course in statistics (at least six quarter hours); OR An equivalent combination of training and experience. Transcripts must be submitted for all required and/or related courses. Please highlight the statistical courses.NOTE: Some agencies may require experience in using trends (such as social, economical, industrial, etc.).
What You Will Need
* At least two years of research experience applying research methods, procedures, and techniques in the natural resources management and conservation fields, and specifically related to protected area management; applying statistical and forecasting principles and procedures; planning and designing research projects and/or inventory and monitoring programs specifically tailored to protected area management; writing technical research reports and/or documents; and using statistical computer software packages.
What We Would Like You to Have
Demonstrated experience with the following:
* Conducting and publishing basic and applied research related to conservation or natural resource science.
* Conducting and interpreting statistical analyses of a wide range of ecosystem-related data.
* At least three years of work experience with federal land or wildlife management agencies, including the US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, US Forest Service, or Bureau of Land Management.
* Ability to tolerate ambiguity.
* Ability to lead groups and to plan, organize, evaluate, manage, and delegate details.
* An understanding of the basic philosophy of the Land Grant University system and of the major federal land management agencies (USFWS, USFS, NPS, BLM).
* Experience using multiple forms of electronic communication.
* Commitment to work with underrepresented and underserved audiences.
* Life experience, education, and/or training that broaden capacity to equalize the success or impact on underserved audiences with special attention to diversity and inclusion.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position will primarily occur in an office environment. Remote work is possible with approval from the PI, although office space and computing resources will be provided at the OSU-Cascades Campus.
