Our dataanalysts are an integral part of a small team focused on finding data-based insights to help optimize enrollment outcomes for college and university partners. Analysts work in tandem with the principals of the firm and each other to interpret for partners the real-world implications of enrollment data.
This position may require travel to a number of college campuses intermittently throughout the year.
This role is based in Richmond, VA or Minneapolis, MN.
Primary Responsibilities:
Associate DataAnalysts work with more senior DataAnalysts to collect and assemble student-related enrollment and financial aid data, create descriptive charts and graphs, and prepare data to be used in forecasting models based on statistical analysis. General tasks include:
* Sending data requests to partners
* Working with partners to answer their questions related to collection of data
* Testing data for integrity and working with partners to correct errors
* Keeping partners and partner teams informed about data discrepancies and assisting in resolution
* Cleansing partner data for statistical analysis

Compensation:
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $50,000 - $52,500 per year. Description:
The DataAnalyst is critical to the success of the Legal Human Resources function with the main priority of analyzing workforce data, understanding connections across data points, and pulling information together in a way that is easy to understand.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact to collect, consolidate, analyze and report on workforce data from across multiple areas of the Legal organization including attrition, headcount, talent flow, diversity, exit interviews, compensation, performance management, productivity measures, talent acquisition and other areas that impact our overall strategic workforce planning efforts.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Produce standard people metrics dashboards for all segments/functions within Legal that will help drive effective decision making within the business.
• Create useful summaries and charts/graphs based on large sets of data.
• Partner closely with other functions (i.e. Finance, Sales Operations, etc) on data requests.
• Other ad-hoc projects that incorporate people data into informed decision making
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• 4-year degree required
• A minimum of 3 years of data analysis and reporting experience
• Proficiency with MS Office suite. Advanced Excel (formulas, macros, pivot tables) and PowerPoint skills required.
• Highly analytical with a proven ability to translate data analysis and research findings into easy to understand summaries and actionable recommendations
• Proven ability to handle large amounts of confidential information
• Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to influence, communicate and interact with HR teams and leadership
• Takes ownership of problems and uses initiative to follow up and further investigate any issues

Experience:

4+ years writing SQL queries
Ability to understand data models, data profiling, and source to target mapping.
NoSQL and big data concepts such as Hadoop is a plus
Informational understanding of relational databases
