EDUCATION LEVEL:
Two or more years post high school education, with preference given to early child-centered studies and/or early childhood development expertise. Child Development Associates (CDA) preferred credentials.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

Classroom Support:

Additional Duties

Job Requirements
You're Our Ideal Candidate If You Have:
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required)
A current North Dakota RN license (or compact state)
At least 3 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department setting
A proven track record in education or precepting (teaching experience required!)
Passion for adult learning and a knack for making complex information engaging.
BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 480 hours)
A drive for professional development, including pursuing or maintaining a nursing certification.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Two years of post high school education or higher, or be able to pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota, for designated Education Assistant positions.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or experience with behavior management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands of this job include general activity such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling throughout the school day. The position requires carrying and lifting of body weight and/or objects/equipment as well as pushing/pulling forces of individuals in wheelchairs and adaptive devices from1 to 40 pounds continuously, 40-60 pounds frequently and from 60 to 99 pounds occasionally. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, if new hires (including transfers).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must demonstrate and pass safety competency review on a yearly basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Assists students in accessing transportation.
Provides personal care to students with special daily living needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, physical management) in accordance with established safety competencies.
Provides review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups in special education classroom and/or regular classroom.
Works with students in schools and in community sites.
Prepares instructional materials as directed/selected by teacher.
Reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives with children as directed by the teacher/therapist.
Provides assistance to maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes).
Monitors identified student(s) in lunchroom/on playground.
Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
Assists with management of student behavior.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position earns the Education Support Professional differential pay. Each position that qualifies for the Education Support Professional differential pay earns an additional $2 per hour.
