QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, Information systems, or a related field
* five (5) years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or data infrastructure
* Proven expertise with automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Kubernetes, Docker)
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
* Understanding data platform operations, security, and observability best practices
* Strategic and technical leadership to enable secure and scalable platform capabilities.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to optimize automation and reliability.
* Communication and collaboration skills to align cross-functional engineering and data teams.

Purpose
The Engineering Manager - Database Administration (DBA) will lead the development of a scalable, secure, and high-performing database environment. This role will begin as a 100% technical contributor and transition into a 50/50 split between hands-on engineering and team leadership. Responsibilities
Initial Phase (100% Hands-On)
Designs, implements, and maintains SQL Server and other on-premises database systems.
Develops and executes a Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) strategy.
Establishes change management, patching, and maintenance processes for all database systems.
Collaborates with the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Analytics team (~25% of time).
Supports application teams with database deployments, performance tuning, and schema design.
Growth Phase (50% Hands-On / 50% Management)
Builds and leads a high-performing DBA teams to support the organization.
Defines and enforces database governance, security, and compliance standards.
Mentors junior DBAs and oversee workload distribution.

Required Qualifications

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee maintenance engineering activities related to mobile units, including repair, inspection, testing, and technical QC of gear returning from and preparing for shows.
Direct and perform troubleshooting component-level repairs, and oversee vendor service for audio, video, intercom, power, and control systems. Collaborate with mobile unit coordinators to track all vendor repairs, warranty claims, and parts replacements.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of spares, replacement parts, and consumables. Ensure critical components are stocked and organized for rapid turnaround.
Ensure the maintenance shop is clean, safe, and optimized for efficient workflows. Oversee the organization of repair benches, tools, and testing areas.
Provide support, repair, and upgrade assistance for custom built NEP critical monitoring systems.
Implement standardized maintenance and gear tracking procedures across facilities. Identify and drive continuous improvements in repair turnaround, QC processes, and asset reliability.
Work with the project management team to schedule proactive and preventive maintenance for mobile units. Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure annual and proactive maintenance checks are completed accurately and annually.

Train and mentor mechanical department staff
Generate mechanical engineering hour estimates to complete ongoing work
Generate mechanical engineering hour estimates and scopes of work for new proposals
Prepare, review and check department deliverables and certify designs, calculations and drawings as required.
Monitor projects performance against schedule and budget
Take on the responsibility of Senior Engineer/Project Lead on specific projects as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline is required;
10+ years of experience in mechanical/piping engineering with relevant experience on industrial or manufacturing type projects;
Experience leading a team of designers and engineers;
PE registration;
Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of industry codes and standards (ANSI, ASME, IBC, ISO, NFPA);
Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of mechanical design software;
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
Ability to perform field/site visits;

This role is hybrid from our Pittsburgh or Las Vegas office. It requires two in-office days each week, ideally Tuesday and Thursday.
