Smith’s experience includes leadership roles, managing all aspects of operations, including fiscal, programmatic, marketing, human resource, strategic planning and resource development. In her current position she directs the delivery of high quality programs and services in three Bay Area Counties with a staff of more than 50 full time and 70 part time employees serving over 1200 families a year.

Smith’s professional career spans over 20 years and is a blend of work in non-profit, corporate, and government organizations. Before coming to Family Support Services, she was the Director of Community Affairs for the Lennar Corporation, Executive Director for the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA and early in her career she served as a community educator for the SF Department of Public of Health.

Smith is on the Board of Directors for Young Community Developers, and is a member of San Francisco Negro Business and Professional Women Inc.

Smith received both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from San Francisco State University, and completed Leadership San Francisco in 2009.

Smith’s work was recognized by: The Alice Griffith Tenants Association 2014; CDA Consulting Group as one of the most Powerful Woman of the Bay 2013; Young Community Developers as an Outstanding Community Supporter 2013, City Flight Magazine as the most influential African American in San Francisco in Community Service 2005.

She is the mother of two young adults.
