As part of Garver's growing Harlingen Water Infrastructure Design Center, the Civil Team Leader will be responsible for building, leading, and managing a group of civil engineering professionals in support of various water/wastewater projects. The Civil Team Leader will be engaged in site layouts, yard piping design, terrain modeling, stormwater calculations, coordination with other discipline activities, and performing quality reviews. What you'll do: Generally, the responsibilities of this role will entail taking projects from conceptual planning to bid ready documents, including conceptual/preliminary/final design, design calculations, inter-discipline coordination, preparation of specifications, coordination with regional offices and quality assurance and control. Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the development of site civil designs for water and wastewater treatment/pumping facilities
Lead the design of complex treatment plant/pumping facilities yard piping systems and coordinate with other utilities
Lead the design of site paving, access, and fencing for water and wastewater treatment/pumping facilities and other ancillary infrastructure
Lead the design of grading and stormwater drainage plans including pre and post terrain modeling

The WIDC was created to bring together every unique discipline necessary to design custom solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure facilities, including civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, construction, applications, and operations. Having a focused team with in-person collaboration using the latest 3D and 4D BIM/Civil3D/MicroStation software leads to more efficient delivery, shorter design schedules, and lower change order percentages. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
10 years or more experience in civil site design with no less than two years of experience in project or team leadership
Professional Engineer Licensure (PE)
In-depth knowledge of the different piping materials including their flow characteristics and bedding requirements

Extensive background emphasis in concrete design for environmental structures, including high-volume, custom plant projects, will allow this team leader the opportunity to be hands-on with design, directly involved with clients, provide mentorship to team members and actively participate in marketing initiatives. What you'll do: Generally, the responsibilities of this role will entail taking projects from conceptual planning to bid ready documents, including preliminary member sizing, design calculations, inter-discipline coordination, preparation of specifications, coordination with regional offices and quality assurance and control. Ideal candidates shall be capable of evaluating and designing a wide variety of materials including concrete, concrete masonry unit (CMU), steel aluminum and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP). Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting regional teams with structural related business development activities
