JOB SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for preparing cocktails, delivering exceptional customer service, assisting in the management of the beverage program, inventory and ordering control, maintaining a clean and organized bar and lounge, and beverage training and development of hotel staff. ONBOARD ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Living Conditions-
Crew live in close quarters with 4 to 8 people of all genders per room depending on the vessel. Having your own room is not an option due to limited berthing.
Length of Work Shift-
Physically able to work 12 hours per day, 7 days a week for 6 to 8 weeks at a time. Rotations off the vessel are usually 2 to 3 weeks.
Mobility-
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, crawling, and pushing/pulling. Must ascend and descend stairs and ladders, sometimes while carrying tools or objects. Able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
Handling/Strength-
Able to handle, lift, and lower objects totaling 50 pounds between the ground/deck level to a height of about 4 to 6 feet, and able to repeat these movements. Able to carry these objects up to 100 feet continuously for 20 minutes.
Environmental Conditions-
Able to work in all weather conditions, around loud noise, in small spaces, and fit through a 28-inch-wide hatch.

Chena Hot Springs Resort Restaurant and Bar, located 60 miles outside Fairbanks, Alaska is hiring for the bartender position. You must have extensive knowledge of different types of beer, wine, and liquor, and know how to mix a variety of specialty beverages. We expect our bartenders to engage with our customers while always being aware of how much people are drinking and looking for signs that someone has had too much to drink. You will also be responsible for balancing the cash register, taking inventory of stock, and replenishing or ordering more when necessary.
We are a medium-sized resort located sixty miles North-East of Fairbanks, Alaska, located in the Chena River State Recreation Area. Notable for our Hot Springs, we also offer a variety of outdoor activities, including Hiking, Camping, ATV/Snow Machine Tours, Dog Sled Rides, and Northern Lights Viewing during the Aurora Season. We also offer a restaurant and café, hotel, and gift shops.
This is a fast-paced position and employees will be expected to work 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hour day.
As with all jobs offered at Chena Hot Springs Resort, single and double-occupancy housing with communal bathroom is provided, as is two hot meals a day and a self-serve cold breakfast. Internet coverage is intermittent and there is limited access to free and paid versions of the Wi-Fi.

Bartender - Full Time & Part Time Available
Position Purpose:
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, managing inventory, maintaining an organized bar area, and providing an engaging experience for our guests. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and strong guest-service skills. Light food service may also be required. Experience required - must possess a valid Alaska TAMS certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with accuracy and consistency
Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked bar environment
Monitor product levels and assist with inventory and ordering
Handle payments, operate POS system, and follow cash-handling procedures
Engage guests, offer recommendations, upsell when appropriate
Ensure responsible alcohol service and uphold all TAMS safety guidelines
Provide basic food service support when needed
Respond to guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and quick solutions
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Prior bartending experience required
Must hold a current Alaska TAMS card
Knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer & wine service
Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-moving environment
Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces
POS and cash-handling skills preferred
Friendly, personable, and guest-focused mindset

The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for full time, Bartender to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.
The role of the bartender is to serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely and manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also, to prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and ensure our guest have an enjoyable dining/drinking experience.
Typical duties of the bartender include:
Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.
Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
Receives cash from guests, make any change needed, verifies validity of charges, and records charges, balance all money to audit reports.
Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank. Cleans banquet bar at the end of each function.
Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a function basis.
The successful applicant will:
Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
Ability to remember, recites, and promotes the variety of menu items.
Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer and standard drink recipes.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
Works well under pressure.
Must be able to identify signs of intoxication and willing to tactfully refuse service based on observation.
Must be 21 years of age and have a valid TAMS and food handler card.
Have patience, tact and diplomacy.
Requires lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
Be professional in all interactions with guests and associates.
At least one on more years of Bartending experience required.
