School Age Teacher Assistant Locations Currently Hiring: Market Square - Afternoons only 1:30pm-6pm M-F Old Brooklyn - Afternoons only 12pm to 6pm M-F Parma Heights - M-F 7-9am and 2-6pm split shift, driving incentive available ($3 per hour additional pay) Lorain Community Center located in the Constellation school - M-F 2:30pm to 6pm Wage Information: Hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $14.00 to 15.50 per hour. CPL 1 $14.00 per hour / CPL 2 and up $15.50 per hour Reports to: Center Director Hours: 7am until 11am and 2pm to 6pm Monday through Friday Job Description: Works with the Lead Teacher to prepare and implement the daily lesson plans and ensures a high level of interaction with children Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit Maintains a clean, safe and emotionally supportive environment that is conducive to learning and is centered on the needs and abilities of the children Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required Document services provided, such as progress reports and attendance Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information All other duties as needed/assigned Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a childcare setting are required Strong familiarity with lesson planning and implementation is preferred Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required Employee Benefits: Medical coverage for employees who work 30+ hours a week.
