Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
* Fluency in English and at least one other language commonly spoken in the Hoquiam community. Spanish preferred.
* Experience in translation and interpretation, preferably in an educational or community setting.
* Must score in the advanced level of a proficiency test provided by the school district prior to being hired.
* Pass OSPI Course, Interpreting in Educational Settings with 80% proficiency

* Proficiency in using translation software and tools, such as CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools.

SOSi is seeking Spanish Linguists in Portland, OR to support our federal law enforcement customer. The Spanish Analytic Linguist will provide operational support to support linguist and translator duties as assigned by the PMO. Essential Job Duties
Monitor live communication and listen to or read foreign language communications lawfully intercepted, and perform immediate verbal summaries, then subsequent written or typed summaries into the English language.
Transcribe audio/video and written communications to and from source language to English as required.
Interpret consecutively or simultaneously to and from source language to English as required.
Validate by reviewing other's original translation, transcription, or the quality control review of the specified original work in order to attest to the accuracy of the final work.

Follow all Linguava and client protocols described in the Linguava employee handbook and the national standards of practice. This includes but is not limited to: educating patients, families, and providers on your role as the interpreter. Checking yourself in and out of appointments on time and staying for the full scheduled duration. Call and advise Linguava when you have any cancellations in order to attempt to replace that appointment with another.
Manage an organized expense report to be updated regularly with mileage travel to and from all appointments. Have the report ready to turn in once a month by the predetermined due date.
