The Energy Transfer Crude Trucking organization currently hauls crude oil in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, North Dakota, Colorado, and Louisiana to truck stations throughout these regions. Our truck fleet helps aggregate the crude oil purchased from individual leases.
Under the direction of the Director - of Cude Trucking, this position will be a Safety Specialist - Health and Safety - utilized to provide support to the Crude Trucking Division's South Region. The Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for supporting truck drivers, supervisors, and third-party personnel to ensure health and safety compliance in relation to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other fields. The areas of responsibility will include parts of West Texas and New Mexico. Travel will be at least 50%.
Primary Responsibilities
The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
* E, H&S Training - Ensure compliance with company and regulatory training requirements through classroom training or computer-based training programs. Run reports to demonstrate compliance with area management.
* Employee Interaction - Be available to participate in safety monitoring route rides, and employee operations by performing working safety evaluations
* Regulatory Compliance - Conduct routine site visits to inspect compliance with company and regulatory health and safety regulations. Inspections consist of but are not limited to Lockout-Tagout, Work Permits, Facility Inspections, and Construction Site Inspections.
* Communication - Establish a firm communication system between operations and E, H&S by making themselves available and responsive to requests from internal clients.
* Incident Recordkeeping and Investigations - Assist with recording and investigating any H&S incidents. This position will be expected to support investigations into vehicle accidents, injuries, spills, property damage, and other events.
* Emergency Response - Support Crude Trucking emergencies by being available 24/7.
* Industrial Hygiene - Conduct air and noise monitoring at Crude Trucking operational locations to ensure employee exposures are below the permissible exposure limits.
* Support Supervisors- Be the primary safety liaison for managers, committee members, prevention teams, and 3rd party trainers.

The ESH Manager is responsible for safety program development, implementation, and oversight in the assigned operating business units.
Functionally supervises the safety behavior of all craft workers and employees in the assigned business unit.
This position interacts with SBU leaders, craft personnel, site supervision, HR, marketing, and accounting to ensure efficient administration of ESH Issues.
This position interfaces with government agencies, including the OSHA, the EPA, and MSHA. Also, represents the company with AGC, ABC, and other outside construction related organizations.

Qualifications
Has Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety & Health or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Has excellent knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and applies them to the conditions found on project sites.
5+ years additional ESH experience required.
ASP and CSP accreditations preferred.
Previous OCIP experience preferred.

About this Role
IRBY Construction, a proud member of Quanta Services, is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support Transmission projects across Texas.
In this role, you'll be a driving force behind our commitment to safety excellence-partnering with crews in the field to ensure compliance, promote best practices, and foster a culture where safety is at the heart of everything we do. You'll serve as a trusted, on-site resource for safety leadership and continuous improvement across dynamic project environments.
This position is based in the Odessa, TX area, assisting on other projects/locations as needed.
What You'll Do
Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the implementation and management of the Irby Safety Management System.
Promote proactive and preventative safety measures by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions.
Integrate safety into project plans, establish safety goals, reinforce safety policies and procedures, support safety training, and monitor safety metrics.
Monitor safety compliance, create awareness, and set priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement.
Ensure that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed.
Ensure that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
Monitor activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 3-5 years of field experience in the power industry, with a strong background in Transmission.
Experience could be as a Journeyman lineman, foreman, or safety with direct experience in the field
Safety Certification OR currently in pursuit of any of the following are a plus:
OSHA 500 / 510, CHST, ASP, CSP, CSHO, COSS, COSM, CUSP, SMS.
Strong persuasive skills in dealing with management; Powerline construction managers and supervisors.
Ability to organize safety and occupational health material to managers and safety committee effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software/tools
