Description
Squire Patton Boggs is actively seeking a Senior Associate to join our dynamic Government Investigations and White Collar Practice Group. The individual hired for this position will handle global compliance, government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, and related complex civil litigation. Relevant clerkship and government experience is a plus. The position can be based in any of our U.S. offices.

Conduct legal and factual research
Analyze documents and complex financial transactions
Draft motions, legal memoranda, investigation reports, and correspondence
Interview witnesses
Manage discovery and other case responsibilities
Develop and manage client relationships

Academic and Professional Qualifications:
Possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record.
Admitted to a US State Bar and in good standing. Admission to the Bar in the state of the primary office is expected if not currently admitted.
Significant experience working in a law firm or government agency with compliance and white collar government investigations experience involving anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, fraud, securities violations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, or other comparable areas of criminal law are preferred.

Position Responsibilities
Supervise junior and mid-level staff or self-perform the following:
Perform analysis, design and documentation of fire suppression, fire alarm, and smoke control systems.
Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to provide solutions for clients.
Conduct building and fire code studies and life safety evaluations independently or with little oversight or training.
Coordinate with other A/E disciplines for all Fire Protection design elements, including but not limited to, architectural, MEP, civil, and structural.
Prepare design deliverables for A/E SD, DD, CD level documents independently or with little oversight or training, including, but not limited to, written reports/narratives, drawings, and specifications.
Meet with contractors during the bid phase to review the design details.
Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects.
Perform project construction administration including response to RFI's and accurate review of submittals.
Review designs prepared by others as part of Osborn's QA/QC process.
Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require.
Work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of Fire Protection Design Experience in Consulting Engineering.
Proficient knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems design and modeling software such as Revit, HAAS, FDS, CONTAM, Pathfinder.
Expert knowledge of local and national building codes, life safety and fire code requirements including both ICC-based codes and NFPA codes and standards
Working knowledge of industry standards and guidelines, including, but not limited to UFC and FM

Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Community Planning and Allocations
Support the work of the Community Planning Committee and Allocations Committee on specific areas of focus within the department to ensure effective engagement of all stakeholders.
Work with appropriate lay committees, agency professionals, and other experts to identify unmet needs and initiatives that would address these needs.
Coordinate the strategy and operations of the Mental Health Crisis Response Team in collaboration with JFC Security, Jewish Family Service Association, Bellefaire JCB, and Naaleh, ensuring proactive planning through regular convenings, timely updates to the crisis management plan, and effective partner engagement.
Conduct analysis of Federation-commissioned and other research to provide important information for planning, priority setting, and program development and produce “white papers” to share information with stakeholders.
Support the oversight and management of annual allocations committee process and ongoing agency oversight.
Department Support
Develop, implement, and administer a standardized process for reviewing, documenting, approving, and submitting grant distribution payments under the purview of the Community Planning department.
Draft relevant and substantive speaker notes for Federation representatives that highlight each agency's accomplishments and challenges, ensuring that timelines allow for stakeholder input and leadership review ahead of annual meetings and events.
Select projects currently undertaken by the CP&A Department include:
Research including the 2022 Cleveland Jewish Community Population study and 2024 Older Adult Task Force.
Addressing challenges of families in financial distress (ex. Cleveland Chesed Center, Forward Focus).
Promoting Jewish engagement through Jewish camping (ex. One Happy Camper) and other informal Jewish engagement opportunities (ex. PJ Library and JHub).
Developing opportunities to support college students through professional development, cohort building, and college scholarships for Jewish camp counselors and middle-income families.
Bringing new engagement opportunities to Jewish Cleveland: Jewish Fertility Foundation, Moishe House.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities
10% of the position is allocated to an annual campaign assignment. This may include, but is not limited to, providing staff support to a group of campaign volunteers, and participating in regular campaign meetings and events, as determined by the Campaign Director.
Additional development assignments as appropriate. This may include writing grant and impact reports, relationship building with lay and agency leadership, producing ongoing written communication regarding community needs, or writing grant proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS

Provides team direction to ensure assignment quality standards are met.
Manages the assignment budget, anticipates and communicates budget issues, identifies opportunities to improve assignment profitability, prepares billings, and assists in cash collections.
Total chargeable hours goal of 1,650 hours.

Able to plan and manage projects - agree timeline for deliverables and deliver quality, on time within budgets.
Develops a thorough knowledge and understanding of tools, systems, and processes (within their discipline) and is able to apply them.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
CPA certification required.
Five years' minimum of progressive audit experience in public accounting or related field.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
Is able to identify the key stakeholders in a decision-making process and develop working relationships.
Has the ability to negotiate and persuade clients with integrity and communicates effectively in the sales process - ensures clients have the information they need to make decisions.
Possesses strong presentation skills.
Always alert to opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
