Details:
In-Person Tutoring in San Francisco, CA
Schedule: 15 hours, 2 days a week 1.5 hour sessions
Pay range is between $25 and $35
Ideal Candidate:
Bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese to support communication with the student and family.
Experience working with students with ASD and other learning differences.
Skilled in teaching math, reading, writing, and social-emotional skills at the elementary level.
Patient, structured, and creative, with the ability to engage students with special needs.
Familiarity with IEP goals and experience implementing individualized learning strategies.
Bubbly, motivating, and capable of building rapport while maintaining consistent academic expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide structured instruction in math, including foundational concepts, word problems, and problem-solving strategies.
Support reading fluency and comprehension through guided practice, modeling, and repetition.
Strengthen writing skills, including language conventions, organization, and expression of ideas.
Reinforce social-emotional learning (SEL) skills, including self-regulation, focus, and task completion.
Incorporate movement breaks and hands-on activities to maintain engagement and attention.
Tailor instruction to the student's interests, such as traffic signs and the alphabet, to enhance motivation.
Collaborate with caregivers and integrate general education homework with individualized learning plans.
Create a supportive, structured, and positive learning environment that fosters confidence and independence.
