Salary to commensurate with qualifications The Sheriff's Office provides public safety at all times and therefore every position is deemed essential. All positions are in-person and not eligible for remote work. Every position is also subject to recall based on the needs of the Office to keep the community safe.
This position has an anticipated work schedule of:
Shift 1: 12:10am - 10:10am subject to change.
Shift 2: 5:00am - 3:00pm subject to change.
Shift 3: 9:45am - 7:45pm subject to change.
Shift 4: 2:35pm - 12:35am subject to change.
Shift 5: 7:20pm - 5:20am subject to change.

Maintains security of the jail and lobby area of the El Paso County El Paso County Jail (Criminal Justice Center). Monitors all movement of inmates to prevent escape. Opens doors for ingress and egress of sworn and non- sworn personnel and visitors. Maintains an orderly and timely processing of visitors to the detention facility.
* Provides facility security and ensures personnel safety at all times. Performs audio-visual recognition and positive identification for all ingress traffic. Monitors internal doors, gates, corridors, and blind areas with the use of cameras, radio, stentofone, voice recognition, and body language. Maintains operational readiness of the control room. Monitors ward door/gate indicator light panels and switches.
* Ensures personnel and visitors entering the facility have secured weapons.
* Inventories and checks operational status of all systems and equipment. Requests repair authorization when necessary; enters and tracks maintenance / repair problems in log.
* Notifies and directs staff and/or outside agencies of the location of emergency alarms and codes: Code Red (inmate on inmate disturbance); Code 20 (staff needing assistance); Code Blue (medical emergency); Code A (all traffic flow stopped except for supervisors). Monitors ALPRS System and reports to shift supervisor of wanted vehicles that arrive at the El Paso County Jail via radio operation or telephone.
* Monitors Gracewatch software and alerts security personnel of distress calls.
* Provides documentation that may be used in court. Prepares computerized shift log to record routine, emergency, and unusual activities as directed by supervisor. Records key set verification, equipment inventory, inmate count, and specific security activities as directed. Ensures programming on the MATV is aired to the inmates. Advises Shift Sergeant of unusual events or emergencies. Monitors Audio/Visual equipment and additional visual observation in E Tower.
* Provides meal counts to the kitchen; maintains battery charging and changing for HT radios.
* Cleans Control Room and restocks appropriate supplies.
* Maintains log of rejected indigent and legal mail.
* Monitors security in lobby area. Answers telephone and refers calls to appropriate personnel. Provides information to visitors, both public and professional.
* Schedules, identifies, and processes visitors to the detention facility. Ensures visitors meet dress code, eligibility, and security requirements. Logs visitors in and out of computer and checks for warrants as directed.
* Directs traffic into facility, including emergency vehicles, fire personnel, delivery persons, and emergency repair crews.
* Provides training to new sworn or civilian personnel on control room operations. Provides history/data regarding inmates and facility.
* Uses hand-held metal detector (wand) to search visitors as needed when the visitor is unable to walk through, clear the walkthrough metal detector, or when the walk-through metal detector is broken.
* Monitors the movement of inmates throughout the facilities.
* May assist with training and instruction as needed.
* Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to resolve conflict and provide de-escalation techniques in a variety of ways with customers and staff.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the general public, Sheriff's Office staff, and other law enforcement personnel.
* Must be honest, truthful, trustworthy, and possess a high degree of personal integrity.
* Must possess hand dexterity with buttons, switches, and finger pressure for control panels. Must be able to hear and see (20/20 correctable).
* Must possess excellent customer service and administrative skills.
* Must be able to work independently and under pressure. Must be able to handle numerous events simultaneously and prioritize.
* Willingness to handle potentially health-hazardous material and equipment, such as inmate razors, nail clippers, and substances in the control rooms.
* Knowledge of and ability to use equipment, including computers and word processing functions, hand held radios, keyboards, typewriter, fax machine, and copier.
* Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Required Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent education.
Licenses/Certificates:
* Must obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Compliance within six months of employment.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
* Must pass a background investigation, truth verification examination, Tuberculosis testing, and a drug screen prior to employment.
Duties are performed in a lobby setting with daily interaction with the public. Low light, confined, and locked environment (control room). High traffic area in an open environment (Lobby area). Position requires shift work to ensure coverage for operations 24 hours per day 7 days per week; may be required to work days, evenings, or overnight depending on assigned shift. Sheriff's Office employees must complete tuberculosis testing as applicable to the specific position prior to job assignment and periodic testing thereafter.

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

* Contributes to all phases of the AV and IT infrastructure installation or upgrade as deemed appropriate by team lead.
* Pulls and dresses fiber optic and Category 6A copper cables.
* Installs of racks/cabinets/credenzas and all peripheral equipment.
* Racks and stacks of equipment in racks/credenzas.
* Terminates copper cable up to CAT6A and SM/MM Fiber single strand to MPO/MTP.
* Helps to solve issues related to cables and networks with guidance and/ or instruction.

Primary purpose of this position is to perform updates to the Air Forces NexGen asset management database and produce reports as required, and performs cost estimates for Capital projects.
Responsibilities:
3 years of Air Force Programming Experience
Assists Programmer in Civil Engineering in complying with legal and regulatory requirements when finical programming MILCON, SRM O&M, Medical and NAF facility projects including preparing DD Form 1391s, Military Construction Project Data. Researches, interprets, analyzes, and applies proper Air Force Instructions (AFIs), especially AFI 32-1020, Planning and Programming Built Infrastructure Projects, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC's), U.S. Code, guidelines, pamphlets, policies, letters, when finically programming facility and infrastructure projects.
Monitors coordination/approval process for converting work requests into contract projects to include validating proper work classification during programming, design, and construction to ensure statutory project approval is obtained from the correct approval authority.
Implements metrics and analyzes systems/processes to ensure actions are efficient, timely, and reviewed at critical points.
Develop, plan, and ensure customer proponents justify capital improvement projects for USAFA facilities.

2-5 years of experience working in Air Force Civil Engineering organizations or other military Services (Army, Navy, Coast Guard) Department of Public Works organizations providing programming, design, and/or construction documentation is preferred.
Knowledge of the Civil Engineering and Air Force funding processes and funding sources including MILCON, O&M (SRM) and NAF. NAF funding includes privately funded and donor funded projects.
