In a properly managed dealership, not only do salespeople have monthly sales goals, but they also have daily effort goals. They are required to make follow-up phone calls, contact previous customers, etc.

Not to mention that the competition for customers is fierce when you start working as a car salesman. The first 90 days typically make or break a car salesman. If the competition doesn't get to you, then people's having to negotiate and haggle on the price just might. That is unless you are someone who enjoys the back and forth process of settling on a price.
