This position has been classified as a safety sensitive position and is subject to our drug testing policy to include pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident for the following prohibited substances: marijuana, amphetamines, opioids, phencyclidine (PCP), and cocaine, as well as any drug not approved for medical use by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. * Takes assignments from the Chief Code Enforcement Officer and arranges the ERT crews' assignments. * Leads the ERT crew in the operation of light equipment such as riding lawn mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, sand blasting, pressure washer, as well as some hand tools such as shovel, pitchforks, rakes, etc., to clean up environmental trouble spots. * Prior to initiating the use of light equipment i.e., tractors, shredders, hand tools, etc. areas where the equipment will be used will be checked/screened to remove large rocks and other debris that could cause damage to the equipment. * Ensures that proper routine maintenance of all equipment is taken care of and inspects such equipment to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition. Assists in minor repairs of tools and equipment. Ensures all such maintenance and repairs are documented. * Ensures that all ERT crew members are taught to properly use all equipment safely and effectively. * Whenever necessary, leads the crew to operate tractors, forklifts, loaders or trucks with attachments such as shredders, chippers to accomplish certain special tasks. * Makes sure the crew will clean and do the routine inspection and maintenance (such as oil changes, etc.) of the vehicle and/or equipment assigned daily or as directed. * Ensures all such maintenance and repairs are documented. * Provides both written and verbal reports on conduct violations, property damage, accidents and violations of the City of Clovis Policy and Procedures/City of Clovis Safety Manual, to the Chief Code Enforcement Officer as per City Safety policies and procedures. * Must use City provided safety clothing/footwear and equipment etc., in accordance with the City Safety policies and procedures. * Will be required to do other duties as assigned by the Code Compliance Supervisor and/or the Building Safety Director. Minimum Qualifications: Licenses and Certificates: * Must poses a valid driver license equivalent to a New Mexico Class D, and have a good driving record. * High School diploma or GED.
