Job Summary:
Self-generating opportunities, prospecting, cold calling, and networking events

* Primer Application: Apply primer to aircraft surfaces as part of the preparation process, ensuring even coverage and surface readiness for paint.

Essential Functions of Crew Leader at Wright Tree Service:
Supervises a line clearance crew and is responsible for planning daily work for crew.
Assigns work for individual crew members and directs crew in performing work according to accepted line clearance practices. Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
Recognizes poisonous plants and uses proper safeguard against them.
Enforces safe work practices, as experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA specifies and conducts safety training in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsible for the conduct of safety training of assigned personnel in accordance with good safety training procedures, in addition to and in coordination with client company policies and procedures.
Responsible for being mindful of controlling crew costs including effective use of manpower, proper work methods, amount of trimming, and operation of equipment.
Considers inclement weather conditions and determines when to start or stop work, dependent upon its effect on employees and the nature of the work.
Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking street or driveways. Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect employees as well as the public. Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue. Follows and enforces safe work practices, rules and policies.
Responsible for truck inspection, proper working conditions, as well as necessary repairs to tools, trucks and other work equipment. Requests major repairs or replacements when required. Maintains good housekeeping on truck and at worksite locations.
In emergency situations, determines proper action to be taken to eliminate hazards to life and property and the trimming/removal of trees, if necessary, to expedite the restoration of service by calling out crew personnel and performing other activities connected with emergency work.
Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or works from the ground using saws/pruners. Will cut branches or trunk sections and drops or lowers them to the ground with lines.
Uses appropriate tools, will fell trees or trimmed trunks and split them into manageable pieces.
Sprays stumps and brush with hand-spraying equipment to prevent further growth.
Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a wood chipper.
Repairs slight damage to lawns, fences, and walks caused by tree trimming.
Services gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and other equipment.
Relays hand-signals, directs traffic, drives and operates trucks and equipment as assigned, and keeps trucks and work area clear and orderly.
Trains new employees on proper procedures.
Works around hazardous equipment and in close proximity to energized power lines.
Works around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, wood chipper and must wear proper personal protective equipment.

Minimum Requirements of Crew Leader at Wright Tree Service:

Responsibilities/Duties
The Landscape Construction Crew Leader is responsible for overseeing daily work on assigned landscape construction projects to ensure quality and timely completion. This includes directing and organizing the daily tasks for Landscape Crew Members and performing labor necessary for the installation of design elements. Roles and Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:
Working onsite supervisor in overseeing and executing landscape maintenance, equipment requirements and material deliveries to ensure the completion of the jobs within project deadlines.
Manage safety, quality, and productivity of work at sites and yard.
Train and mentor crew members on safe and proper methods and techniques to perform assigned tasks: work with employees to deficiencies.
Work as a team with Maintenance Manager and Property Manager Supervisor and other Landscape Technicians to execute landscape maintenance projects from beginning to completion of jobs
Identify client property needs and enhancements, explaining needs to assigned sales representative. i.e., bug treatments, tree pruning, overseeding, etc..
Complete weekly service reports and leave with clients.
Operate various tools, light and heavy equipment
Work as a team in maintaining all types of landscape projects including, but not limited to Fertilization, Organic care, Mowing, Trimming, and more, including snow removal during the winter season
Work with crew members in maintaining residential, commercial and municipal properties including, but not limited to plantings, weeding, fertilizing, trimming, mowing, and more
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
Read and interpret job folders: blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to complete work activities
Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction and to help grow the business
Work closely with Crew technicians to ensure the timing, materials, quality and completion of jobs meet or exceed expectations.
Establish strong working relationships with all Operation Team members to work collaboratively, ensure client expectations are met or exceeded, and contribute to a positive and proactive culture
Property managers are responsible for providing proper care and safety considerations while be responsible for their assigned work truck. Ensuring to complete load list and D.O.T sheets in preparation for job and road operation.
Maintaining timely attendance to represent VHC fundamental standards of creating a great first impression.
Qualifications
3 or more years' experience in the landscape/construction industry
Knowledge and/or experience in horticulture, landscape design and/or construction, a plus
Education:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Degree in horticulture or a related field of study, or equivalent, a plus
License:
Valid driver's license required for operating VHC vehicles
CDL license, or the ability to obtain one, a plus
Pesticide license or the ability to obtain one, a requirement.

This position requires regular heavy lifting, bending, kneeling and working outdoors in all types of weather
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
