They will provide customer service while taking inbound phone calls in a high performance, customer focused, call center environment. The Dispatcher will coordinate the operations and logistical functions of the transportation division while resolving issues so as to align employees with our company values and goals. They should be expected to be skilled in the daily processes and activities involved for all aspects of petroleum transportation and delivery. This position may be based in Ponca City, Blackwell, or OKC. We have a strong preference that it will be in the Ponca City/Blackwell area. Will work a rotating schedule to include weekend availability. Responsibilities:
Manage the workforce to achieve daily production goals. Determine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs.
Manage prevention of service failures through effective dispatching of drivers.
Supervise scheduling of shipments.
Contact customers daily to determine their fuel needs, the current market and trends, and our availability to fulfill their fuel needs.
Create and maintain a high-performance culture. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner.
Build, grow and maintain a relationship with customer bases through excellent communication skills and customer service.
Expected work week of approximately 50-55 hours. This includes a weekend rotation with other dispatchers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in the delivery/trucking industry preferred.
Experience in dispatching/customer service is beneficial.
Must possess at least intermediate computer skills and knowledge.
Ability to evaluate alternatives in order to make best overall value decisions based on considering key factors, cost, customer expectations, driver needs and other factors.
Solid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and a proven record of taking the initiative and responsibility in using those skills effectively, both individually and as a team member.
Ability to function well in a high-stress environment.
Pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements:

JOB SUMMARY
This posting will be used to fill a current vacancy in the 911 Communications Center in the Operations Division of the Police Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. An eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies in the department, per provisions of the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. The 911 Dispatcher Trainee serves as the telephone communication link between the calling party and units in the field. Essential job functions include: accurately and efficiently receiving and transmitting information via telephone and through the Computer Aided Dispatch Data Network; input and/or retrieval of information concerning emergency and non-emergency situations; recording information obtained from callers by typing information into the computer via a computer terminal and keyboard; routing calls to appropriate dispatch consoles; monitoring calls to ensure dispatch of support agencies; dispatching emergency and non-emergency vehicles to reported trouble locations; and monitoring frequencies in order to respond to field unit status reports and requests for assistance. The work is reviewed through continual visual observation and through monitoring of radio frequencies by the supervisor.
NOTE: The incumbent is hired as 911 Dispatcher Trainee. Upon successful completion of the training and probationary period, the incumbent is eligible for promotion to 911 Dispatcher I. 911 Dispatcher Trainees receive four (4) weeks of classroom instruction/training on the telecommunications equipment and procedures and will spend the remainder of the probationary period receiving on-the-job training under close supervision.

Upon successful completion of the training and probationary period, the incumbent is eligible for promotion to 911 Dispatcher I. 911 Dispatcher Trainees receive four (4) weeks of classroom instruction/training on the telecommunications equipment and procedures and will spend the remainder of the probationary period receiving on-the-job training under close supervision.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Dispatcher is responsible for simultaneously operating a multi-channel radio console and a multi-line telephone, while maintaining computer-aided dispatch systems and other computer systems. Responsible for receiving, coordinating and disseminating critical information from various sources and maintaining radio contact with mobile/field units to monitor response, progress and any needed support. This position works in the communications center of the police station which is responsible for answering emergency calls in a 24/7 operation.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor telephones and radio in the communications center, answers all incoming calls and ascertains nature of call, gathers all necessary information to transmit or relay.
Dispatch for emergency responses, contact all required personnel and other local concerns in the event of an emergency situation and insures the presence of reserve units by contacting personnel designated for call-back.
Maintain log on radio and telephone communications, location of personnel and equipment.
Operate radios as needed to assist in radio communications.
Compose, type and edit correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of dispatch methods and procedures used by police, fire and medical.
Knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation required to compose and proofread written documents.
Skill in communicating clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Ability to operate a variety of communications and telecommunications equipment.
Ability to type 35 words per minute.
Ability to read, understand and interpret moderately difficult to complex written information.
Ability to maintain emotional control and work effectively during emergencies, crisis situations or extremely stressful conditions.
Must be able to read, understand, apply and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations and policies.
