Directly train, supervise, and coordinate the activities of production workers. As a Lead, your work can encompass a number of different activities and tasks. These can include training and supervising groups of processors to perform the tasks required for your area.
You will report to the Plant manager and Assistant Plant Manager who will also assign pre- and post-season work. This work can include preparing production facilities for the fish processing season, and tasks associated with plant startup and shutdown.

Essential Job Functions

Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with NPSI s Safety training.
Perform accident investigations and report all accidents or near misses to Safety/HR.
Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
Recommend to or work with Production Manager to implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, recovery, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Recommend personnel actions such as evaluations, and promotions.
Maintain confidentiality with personal information of those you supervise. Do not disclose or divulge either directly or indirectly the confidential information to others unless first authorized to do so by Human Resources, Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
Help mediate production crew complaints & disputes. Apply necessary and appropriate corrective action whenever an employee fails to meet the required standard of conduct or performance.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production.
Conduct area/department specific tasks.
Train all employees on proper machine use and manual fish processing techniques.
Know employees assigned to their department and inform timekeeper and /or production manager of absentees

Work Environment:

The Oil Search (Alaska) LLC is a Regional Business Unit (RBU) of Santos Limited (Santos) and is responsible for appraising discovered resources in Alaska, commercializing the appraised resources, developing a project leading to oil production. In addition, the RBU will be responsible for exploration, appraisal and pre-development activities on additional acreage.
The Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) department supports the business by providing technical expertise and support to RBU activity planning and execution. The environmental team supports the business through preparing and administering environmental permitting processes, development of regulatory and environmental compliance training and tools, planning and execution of environmental studies and surveys, tracking and reporting of environmental key performance indicators and serving as the primary interface between RBU operations and environmental regulatory personnel.
Position Purpose
Reporting to RBU Permitting and Compliance Manager, the Permitting Lead will be responsible for managing the team that is responsible for acquisition of all environmental approvals for Santos activities withing the RBU. The incumbent will coordinate with RBU functions during field activity planning to identify permit requirements, developing permit strategies and performing risk assessments. They will be responsible for engaging with regulatory agencies and for communicating regulatory information to key OSA stakeholders.
In addition to being accountable for timely permit acquisition, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and modification of programs, processes, procedures and tools as necessary to ensure work is conducted in compliance with the Santos Management System.
