Requirements: Production Supervisor Job Duties: Assures the quality of the products by observing work and monitoring displays, gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that Machine Operators conform to production or processing standards. Assures the standard number of cases by ensuring no machinery substandard exists, and the standard yield of the products by controlling line losses (operations errors and substandard machinery conditions) and the average weight. Enforces safety and sanitation rules by completing required check list, ensuring the training completion before assigning the positions, providing education on safety and sanitation regularly. Completes and files all reports required by SQF Standards with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP). Ensures all production reports have been properly and timely filed and takes appropriate actions if there are outlying figures. Ensures all maintenance records have been properly and timely filled and takes appropriate actions if further maintenance and/or repairs are needed. Establishes standards and procedures for work of staff; will be required to lead by example. Assists in the development, organization and participation of staff in departmental training programs; provides on-going supervision and coaching to improve operations with positive reinforcement and goals. Understands the manufacturing process and equipment/parts design in order to ensure proper equipment operation and efficient startups. Communicates with other Supervisors and Management to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Provides daily direction and leadership to employees on the assigned production line and the Machine Operators in the most effective manner to pursue and fulfill these responsibilities. Carries out Supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies and applicable regulations including training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complains and resolving problems. Problem solves with Management in a positive and professional manner. Responsible for efficiently supporting a variety of operational facilities for production needs; work in conjunction with Management as needed to assure readiness for upcoming projects; demonstrates good time management in planning work schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Accountability for all Departmental stock & inventory control. Periodically inventories supplies and requisitions and distributes supplies and equipment; places orders as required. Maintains records of supplies used. Plans schedules and coordinates production projects with Management teams. Demonstrates excellent communication written and verbal communication skills. Writes staff assignment schedules, performs employee performance evaluations, and holds disciplinary/coaching meetings as needed. Makes recommendations for improvements. Flexible scheduling: Some scheduling is determined by hours of operation and events; also occasionally works after hours to complete special projects, handle after-hour emergencies and problems. Demonstrates analytical skills and the ability to problem solve. Available if needed 24/7 for business emergencies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Principals and processes for providing production efficiencies and safety designs, includes needs assessment, meeting standards and regulation, and evaluation of results. Business & management principles involved with planning, resource allocation, & leadership technique. Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively. Reading and comprehension abilities for proper use of machinery manuals. Must be able to follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines when using and maintaining machinery and equipment. As needed, must be able to work all shifts, weekends. Knowledge and understanding of principles and methods of training and instruction. General knowledge of machinery maintenance and equipment operation. Specific knowledge of F/F/S production machines a plus. Ability to work in a Team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility. Proactive and self-starting, working in a culture of goal-setting with continuous improvement focus and training and mentoring of team members. Minimum Qualification Standards: Education Requirement: Minimum High School diploma or its equivalent.
