Position Title Part-Time Catering Server - Catering and Conferences Job Description * Server for catered events including wedding receptions, corporate events, lunch meetings, and off-site events. * Part-time servers will assist with event set up and clean up as well as oversee small events such as coffee breaks for meetings in the John C. Myers Convocation Center.
* Part-time servers will have open availability for working night and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
* Qualified candidates must possess natural ability to serve guests in an upscale dining environment.
* Responsible with excellent attendance record and strong customer service skills.
* Must be available to work flexible schedule that includes nights/weekend events.
Preferred Qualifications
* Some past experience as a server or in hospitality related field.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working under the direction of the Event Captain, and overall, to the Hospitality Manager, duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Read and review event documents for equipment set up (tables, chairs, bars, etc.).
Set up and break down tables, chairs, bars, and other event equipment.
Serve food and beverages to guests.
Clean and prepare the dining areas.
Greet and make all guests feel welcome at the museum.
Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion.
Knowledge of room setup, food safety standards, and food presentation setup.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
Uphold standards of service through different catering events offered.
Perform other catering duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in customer service, food service, or other related fields.
Ability to build rapport with guests.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be dependable, organized, able to meet the physical demands of position, and maintain a professional demeanor.
Must have evening and weekend availability.

The Catering Attendant & Server supports our mission and values by assisting in the successful operation of venue and catered events.
The Catering Attendant & Server primary responsibilities will include:
Communicate clearly, quickly and politely with customers and co-workers to ensure a successful event.
Be pleasant and alert to customers' needs.
Work as a "team" to ensure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness and value to each customer.
Prepare products quickly and accurately, while following all preparation, health and safety standards and guidelines.
Assemble and deliver food and beverages to customers quickly and efficiently.
Operate and maintain food/drink/treat related equipment properly and safely.
Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of venue & catered events.
Stock and execute proper rotation of products.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar and dining area including tables, counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
Set up tables, chairs, linens, food displays, following guidelines provided by Bistro Supervisor
Bus Tables, wash dishes, shine silver, fold napkins as needed.
Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Inform immediate supervisor promptly of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
What is required in this position?
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Food service experience preferred.
Onsite presence required.
