Head of Content
Lightfield
Remote job
Lightfield is an AI-native CRM that assembles itself from your email, calendar, and meetings. It captures every interaction and turns it into organized context: accounts, tasks, follow-ups, and insights, so nothing slips through the cracks.
We're rethinking CRM from first principles. Instead of forcing teams to maintain rigid systems, Lightfield learns from how companies actually work, adapting, automating, and surfacing the insight that drives growth. We're building the CRM platform we always wished existed: fast, intelligent, and genuinely helpful.
We are backed by Greylock, Lightspeed, and Coatue, and our team previously built Tome, a generative AI presentation product used by over 25 million people. Before Tome, many of us worked on Llama, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Pinterest, Google, and Salesforce.
About the role
We've shipped a product founders love, with over 1500 companies signing up since our launch in November, and are now in a race to cement category leadership.
World class content is how we will win.
We're hiring a Head of Content to build Lightfield's content function from the ground up. We're looking for someone who can set the editorial vision, establish an unmistakable voice, and build a first-rate media company within Lightfield that rallies the startup community around us.
You'll report directly to the Head of GTM. In the near-term, you'll be hands-on-keyboard-writing, editing, shipping as a team of one, with support from contractors. Over time, you'll define how this function scales.
What you'll do
Set the content bar. Define what "great" looks like for Lightfield content across every format-founder posts, long-form guides, product videos, customer stories. Then hold that line ruthlessly as you build and scale the function.
Build our founders' brands. Sit close to the founding team, extract real opinions and stories, and turn them into content that cuts through the noise. Ghostwrite LinkedIn posts, X threads, and essays that sound like the us - not like generic thought-leader bro content.
Create category-defining guides. Research, interview, and write long-form playbooks on founder-led sales, early GTM, and AI-native CRM. These should be good enough to charge for. They should make readers think, "I can't believe this is free."
Own organic search. Lead SEO and AEO strategy: identify high-intent topics, structure content for both humans and LLMs, and make Lightfield impossible to miss in Google and generative search.
Bring our product and customer stories to life. Script product walkthroughs and feature breakdowns. Turn customer wins into case studies, quotes, and clips that make Lightfield's value undeniable.
Who you are
You've built before. You've been the first or early content hire at a high-growth company and know what it takes to create a content engine from zero. You're energized by ambiguity, not paralyzed by it.
Your taste is your edge. You have an instinctive sense for what separates forgettable content from work that people save, share, and reference. You can point to specific brands whose content you admire-and articulate exactly why.
You're a versatile, sharp writer. You move fluidly from 3,000-word guides to six-word hooks. Your writing is clear, direct, and grounded in real problems. No jargon. No filler.
You're AI-native. You use Claude, Descript, and similar tools as core parts of your workflow-for research, drafting, repurposing-while maintaining an obsessive quality bar on final output.
You're passionate about AI and modern GTM. You're genuinely curious about how AI is reshaping go-to-market, and you want to be in the room where it's being figured out.
Benefits & Perks
Competitive salary
Meaningful early equity
Health insurance (medical, dental, vision)
3 weeks of PTO
11 paid company holidays + we enjoy a winter holiday break
3 months of paid family leave
Wednesdays work from home
Regular team dinners, events, offsites, and retreats
401k plan
Other perks include: commuter and lunch stipend
