The HVAC Installation/Repair Senior Technician performs duties related to the installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a complex portfolio of university HVAC and chilled water systems to ensure occupant comfort, space pressurization, improve system efficiency, and reduce facility operating costs. The systems maintained by this position include: rooftop package units, split systems, VRF systems, refrigeration systems for coolers and freezers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, controls and various other refrigeration systems such as small appliances and ice machines. To ensure success as a senior HVAC technician, you should have advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, excellent mechanical skills, and troubleshooting skills. The successful operation of these systems is critical to the university. Required Qualifications • Must have or be able to obtain a Journeyman's or Masters license in HVAC or Electrical, within eleven months of hire date; OR current Journey or Master level licensing agreement (reciprocity) from another jurisdiction as approved by the Virginia Board for Contractors.
