A Fiber Splicer Technician for Patriot Broadband Technologies supports the splicing, terminating, bonding, grounding, testing, and documentation process of all fiber cables within the fiber optic network. For this outside plant role, a qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency and have experience operating a fiber splicing bucket van/truck, climbing ladders and poles, and has worked with underground fiber cabling. Position Purpose (Summary)
The function of this position is to:
Replace, modify, and/or install warm air furnaces, air conditioners, duct distribution systems, boilers, water heaters, and related piping and electrical to meet or exceed the manufacturer's recommendations and local codes.
Can startup installed equipment and adjust to the manufacturers and job specification.
Can troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve/repair all issues that arise during an installation that would keep the equipment from functioning properly.
Communicate with the consumer regarding the proper operation and owner's maintenance of the installed equipment. Answer related questions as to operation, features, and functions to the homeowner.
Perform required documentation for each installation with a complete startup record. Have client sign necessary paperwork and collect payments as directed.

What you will do:

Position Summary
We are hiring an HVAC Install Helper to support our installation team in delivering top-tier HVAC systems to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to learn the trade, gain hands-on experience, and grow into a skilled HVAC technician. Key Responsibilities
Assist lead installers with the installation of HVAC equipment, ductwork, and associated systems (furnaces, condensers, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits, etc.)
Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials to and from job sites
Prepare job sites by organizing tools, materials, and equipment
Support fabrication and installation tasks, including ductwork assembly, equipment placement, and system connections
Learn to use hand and power tools safely and effectively under supervision
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Follow instructions from lead installers and adhere to safety protocols on every job site
Provide professional and respectful communication with customers and team members
Assist with cleanup and final site walkthrough upon job completion
Operate company vehicles responsibly when required
Qualifications
1-2 years of HVAC or construction-related experience preferred (but not required-we will train motivated candidates)
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) and work in various environments (attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, etc.)
Possess own tools
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Basic understanding of hand and power tools is a plus
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Required)
High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
Military experience or technical school training is a plus
