QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications for Sign Language Interpreter:
· 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as Sign Language Interpreter within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum)
· Valid Sign Language Interpreter credential/license or in process in state of practice

Job Summary:
Our Linguists are responsible for performing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish to English; collecting, analyzing, identifying, and decoding of colloquialisms and slang terms; extracting pertinent information and communicating that information to law enforcement agent(s). The linguist will be responsible for transcribing source documents and recordings from storage media, including but not limited to audiocassettes, videocassettes, or digital media.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Listens to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Spanish and provides verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as it may be applicable per project.
Responsible for relating all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
Contributes to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
Maintains a voice library for the duration of the project.
Transcribes and translates pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
Produce court ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
Responsible for using the various reference tools created during the project.
Ability to transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day.
Operates specialized software equipment provided by the government to include JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at their assigned site.

+ Interpret consecutively or simultaneously to and from source language to English as required.
+ Validate by reviewing other's original translation, transcription, or the quality control review of the specified original work in order to attest to the accuracy of the final work.

Job Description
The Language Interpreter will:
Provide interpretation for patients, caregivers throughout the SRAlab System of Care to ensure patients receive full benefit of treatment.
Translate clinical and procedural documents by providing an oral translation into the language of the patient
Translate written documents.
Assist employees in understanding cultural differences and how language barriers may impact patient care.

Job Description
The Language Interpreter will:
* Provide interpretation for patients, caregivers throughout the SRAlab System of Care to ensure patients receive full benefit of treatment.
* Translate clinical and procedural documents by providing an oral translation into the language of the patient
* Translate written documents.
* Assist employees in understanding cultural differences and how language barriers may impact patient care.
* Collaborate with other Interpreters on inpatient and outpatient schedules and assignment of registry and agency interpreters.
* Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Reporting Relationships
* Reports directly to the Business Support Manager, Interpreter Services
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
* Successful completion of a formal program in medical interpreting and translation with medical interpretation certificate.
* Progressive experience in medical translation and interpretation including working with diverse organizations, multi-cultural environments.
* Demonstrated accurate ability to interpret verbal and transcribe written medical and rehabilitative information in both the foreign language as well as English language.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding or cultural differences that exist within cultures.
* Adherence to code of ethics and confidentiality.
* Ability to manage caseload and time; able to travel between patient care areas and off-site facilities.
* Ability to balance interpretation and administrative work.
* Ability to sustain a busy and flexible work schedule.
Working Conditions
* Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
Pay and Benefits*:
Pay Range: $17.00 per hour - $29.59 per hour
