Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Family Law Division. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in family law, with additional experience in probate law considered a strong plus. This role involves managing both non-complex and complex domestic cases from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and representing clients in court proceedings, mediations, and trials. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, excellent written and oral advocacy skills, and a tactful yet strategic approach to litigation. Responsibilities & Core Competencies: Conduct client meetings, including initial consultations and ongoing case updates. Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and proposed court orders in cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, legitimation, modifications, and contempt. Develop and implement strategic litigation approaches tailored to diverse client goals. Negotiate and finalize settlement agreements in complex domestic relations matters. Interpret and apply Georgia law, including local court rules, state statutes, and evidentiary standards. Manage assigned cases from initiation through resolution, ensuring timely and thorough handling of all aspects. Collaborate with and delegate specific responsibilities to assigned support staff to promote efficiency and quality work product. Handle probate matters, including estate administration, will contests, guardianships, conservatorships, and related litigation. Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and discretion in managing sensitive and emotionally charged cases. Participate actively in firm meetings, continuing legal education, and client development initiatives as required. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in the state of Georgia. 2 + years of family law experience preferred (will consider strong candidates with relevant litigation or clerkship experience). Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with attention to detail. Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and discretion in client interactions. Proficiency in case management and legal billing software is a plus.
