Title: Lead Estimator
Position Overview:
Staff position at our office in Rosharon Tx. Work under the direction of an estimating manager to generate complete proposals from receipt of RFQ to proposal submittal.
Position Responsibilities:
Preparation of proposals including cost, technical, and commercial responses.
Generate technical submittals required by client.
Complete accurate manual takeoffs of civil, concrete, piping, equipment, & steel.
Correctly interpret specifications for material and labor pricing purposes.
Apply Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) elements to estimate as required by client and as necessary for future use once awarded.
Contact subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty services for quotes.
Attend pre-bid meetings in client facilities.
Assist in schedule preparation and analysis, execution plan development, and risk analysis.
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or other equivalent discipline.
A minimum of 3+ years relevant estimating experience.
General knowledge of civil, structural, and/or piping craft scopes of work.
Skilled in piping material and labor quantity takeoff.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
Prior use of Timberline or other estimating software. Adequate training within Performance's estimating software will be provided (Timberline).

A DAY IN LIFE AS A WATER PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
General Description
The purpose of this class within the organization is to manage and oversee the day to day operations and maintenance of water production and treatment facilities including and pumping operations and water quality assurance activities for the delivery of potable water to City residents and businesses.
This class of supervisory employee works independently, under limited supervision of the Director/Assistant Director, maintaining compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and accomplishing projects, providing operational oversight and reporting major activities through written reports, periodic meetings, and project deliverables.
This position is also responsible for external outward communications, on behalf of the Department and Division, responding to resident requests and resolution of complaints regarding the City's potable water system.
Essential Functions:
Manages the day to day operations for water production operations and water quality activities and maintains compliance with TCEQ requirements.
Oversees the division staff, critical water infrastructure for the delivery of potable water to City residents. This includes the proactive and preventative maintenance of groundwater production wells, metering stations, specialized valves, chemical pumps, booster and high service pumps, and treatment equipment; verifying chemical settings; monitoring the distribution of water usage using SCADA; maintenance of ground and elevated storage tank levels; and monitoring meters and filters.
Performing or overseeing the laboratory sampling of the required TCEQ water quality assurance and testing procedures at flushing and sample points; verifying calibration of pressure gauge equipment;
Oversight over outcomes and actions needed from laboratory analyses of the samples; interpreting the results of the field tests; and overseeing necessary action for chemical and pumpage flow changes.
Responsible for the successful implementation and maintenance of the City's Nitrification Action Plan, Ground Water Conservation Plan and Consumer Confidence Report.
Responsible for the Division Emergency Plan, and providing resources and support to the Public Works Emergency Preparedness Operations Plan and City Emergency Plan. Responsible for oversight that
Ensures leadership, decision making, and relationships with supervisors and employees are handled per policy and regulation.
Oversees recruiting hiring, development, coaching and dismissal for the Water Production Division. Responsible for onboarding of new employees to establish City expectations for excellent customer service.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college.
Requires five years increasing responsibility in the maintenance and operations of water production facilities, including a minimum of two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility field or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:

How will you spend your days as a Design Lead?
Set and lead project direction and strategy based on client vision and expected outcomes throughout the entire project delivery life cycle.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Production Manager is a Manager level role within Valmont's Coatings Division. The incumbent must be a highly driven individual who is a confident, hands-on, and independent self-starter with a strong OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manufacturing or industrial coatings background to join the organization and acquire the skills and experience necessary to lead a galvanizing company. This position manages a two or three shift operation including oversight of safety, production, quality, scheduling, lean implementation and initiatives, and compliance reporting.
Essential Functions:
Manage the use of plant resources to ensure that all plant operations are meeting or exceeding safety, quality, and production goals set by the General Manager
Oversee daily operations of the coatings shop, ensuring production schedules, workflows, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
Receive training in industrial troubleshooting, accounting, financial forecasting, human resources, and galvanizing sales and services
Assist in identifying operations' best practices, performing lean audits and kaizen events
Facilitate positive customer relations through the services of quality coated product and on-time delivery
Track and review production metrics (throughput, quality, rework rates, on-time delivery) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Review and control operation expenses for raw materials, operating supplies, and equipment
Manage inventory of coatings, consumables, and shop supplies, ensuring cost-effective procurement and minimal waste.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Some of the working conditions for this position is in a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, cold, heat, noise, dust. The Production Manager will work in both the office and shop environment. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. 5-10% travel is required for this position. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

General Description
The purpose of this class within the organization is to manage and oversee the day to day operations and maintenance of water production and treatment facilities including and pumping operations and water quality assurance activities for the delivery of potable water to City residents and businesses.
This class of supervisory employee works independently, under limited supervision of the Director/Assistant Director, maintaining compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and accomplishing projects, providing operational oversight and reporting major activities through written reports, periodic meetings, and project deliverables.
This position is also responsible for external outward communications, on behalf of the Department and Division, responding to resident requests and resolution of complaints regarding the City's potable water system.
Essential Functions:
Manages the day to day operations for water production operations and water quality activities and maintains compliance with TCEQ requirements.
Oversees the division staff, critical water infrastructure for the delivery of potable water to City residents. This includes the proactive and preventative maintenance of groundwater production wells, metering stations, specialized valves, chemical pumps, booster and high service pumps, and treatment equipment; verifying chemical settings; monitoring the distribution of water usage using SCADA; maintenance of ground and elevated storage tank levels; and monitoring meters and filters.
