Training and Development Attend Fall RA Training in August 2026 in person and hold all dates in their entirety. Attend Spring RA Training in January 2027 in person: you must be available to come back to campus up to four days prior to class starting and hold all training dates in their entirety. Arrive to campus before students come and stay on campus until after they have all left for both fall and spring semesters. Assist with Move-In, Orientation Weekend, and Admitted Student Day activities Attend RA hall meetings, monthly departmental in-service meetings, and 1:1 meetings with supervisors. Be present at and participate in fall and spring end of semester check outs. Be a positive role model by following University policy. Participate in emergency response (including training/education). Serve as a liaison between Residence Life and other departments. Actively refer students based on their needs. Participate in Residence Life educational and development meetings (as scheduled). Administration Submit administrative paperwork, including weekly reports and duty logs. Document situations of crisis, complications, and facilities issues using warning logs, work orders, and incident reports. Communicate actively with your supervisor and Residence Life. Complete all conditions reports from residents when moving in or out of a room (checking room, documenting concerns, getting signatures). Guide your residents in completing their Roommate Agreements when moving into or changing their room. Document the planning process and the evaluation of your community development areas. Conduct semesterly Fire, Health & Safety checks as mandated by the Department of Residence Life Position Requirements: RAs must commit to a full academic year in the position. RAs must be able to commit to varying time commitments throughout the academic year including but not limited to staff meetings, training and development sessions, duty and on-call, team meetings, and additional commitments as outlined by the Residence Life Hall Coordinator and or the Director(s) of Residence Life. RAs are allowed to work an additional on or off campus job totaling no more than 20 hours a week. Consult the supervisor before agreeing to more hours. RAs must maintain a 2.75 GPA Open Positions: Luther Hall, Wollaeger Hall RA This position is designed to mentor, assist, and advise first-year students in our two traditional residence halls. Hyatt Village RA This position is designed to mentor, assist and advise a combination of upperclassmen and first-year students in a suite-style residence hall. Holst Hall RA This position is designed to mentor, assist, and advise upperclass students in our apartment style hall. Position Compensation RAs are not charged for room/housing. RAs do not receive hourly or work study payments for basic compensation. Meal plan charges are the responsibility of the RA. RAs may receive additional hourly compensation for approved hours for Holiday duty commitments (applicable during University recognized holidays/ closures), Residence Life sponsored events (outside the scope of programming/ curriculum requirements), collateral assignments and special projects.
