Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

A Court Security Officer (CSO) is a specialized security position providing protective services at or around United State Federal Court Houses or other areas as assigned under a contract to the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). CSO's in this classification generally provide security services under some limited supervision from a Lead CSO and the District Supervisor who reports to the Contract Manager (CM). This is a union position.
The CSO position is able to perform a variety of fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols while maintaining situational awareness and making decisions and/or taking actions consistent with established post orders, facility rules, guidelines and protocols. Duties may include work in austere and uncomfortable conditions for prolonged periods of time, including periods of inclement weather, while performing walking, standing, searching, and surveillance or sitting duties essential to the performance of the security functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Shall enforce the District's entry and identification system.
Test and Report Emergency Equipment

Monitor all equipment; guard against loss or damage; report any such loss or damage immediately to a supervisor or manager.

The primary purpose of the Police Officer position is to enforce the law, provide service, information and aid to all citizens as circumstances require, prevent crime, suppress disturbances, investigate criminal offenses, and arrest offenders. Perform law enforcement duties on the property under the control and jurisdiction of the University of Texas System. Preserve the peace by the use of all lawful means, interceding when authorized by law, to prevent or suppress crime. Execute all lawful processes. Attempt to locate missing persons.

Give credible testimony in the criminal courts of this state and the United States. Confers with prosecuting attorneys, preserves evidence, and maintain confidential information. Confers with local law enforcement, criminal justice, and emergency response agencies on matters of mutual interest.
*EDUCATION*
Required: In accordance with current levels of education for commissioned police officers of the University of Texas System as adopted by the Board of Regents.
*EXPERIENCE*
Required: Successful completion of prescribed field training program.
Preferred: Six months experience as a police guard or police cadet for the University of Texas System.
*LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS*
Required: TCL-B - TCOLE Basic Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) Peace Officer License.

Responsibilities
Perform internal guard services to include but not limited to, vehicle and personnel entry control points, internal roving patrols and armed escort guard services;
Provide excellent customer service to guests, residents, employees and contractors in the communities and facilities we serve;
Provide roving mobile patrol services within designated areas;
Provide screening services of vehicles and personnel at entry control points;
Protect equipment and personnel;
Maintain weapons qualification on assigned weapon systems;
Maintain proficiency with Non-Lethal Weapons;
Perform internal security guard services, at any potential internal security posting, for up to 12 hours, often in austere conditions to include extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain or snow;

Requirements:
US Citizen or Eligible for Employment in the United States
Must have a valid US Driver's License
A minimum of 21 years old.
Must have a minimum of Three years verifiable experience in U.S. Military, corrections, security and/or Law Enforcement.
Must have completed Texas Private Security Level III Training course within previous 30 days or ability to complete course at own expense prior to appointment, OR have a valid Texas PSB Level III License in hand ( Full-Time Law Enforcement Officer applicants are exempt from this requirement)
Must have clean criminal history and able to pass a pre-employment background investigation
Honorable discharge from the military (if applicable)

Able to don all required personal protective gear.
