DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (DSU) is a regional comprehensive institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota. DSU is seeking to hire Campus Security Officers. These positions provide a safe and secure environment for the DSU campus community; makes referrals to local police agencies; secures medical assistance when needed; and reports all violations of the policies and procedures of Dickinson State University, North Dakota State Board of Higher Education, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. This position is directly involved with training and participating in safety and emergency management activities and exercises. Each shift will consist of approximately 80% patrolling the building and grounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
* High school diploma or G.E.D. or higher
* Two (2) years' experience directly related with safety and security
* Valid driver's license
* Fitness for Duty Certification upon hire, and after any medical leave
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
* Associate's degree in criminal justice or related major
* Two (2) years experience in security in a higher education environment
* Emergency Management Training/Experience
* Jeanne Clery Act Compliance Training/Experience
* Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
* Experience with Medical Training (i.e. First Aid, CPR, etc.)
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Campus Safety and Security
* Patrol all University property by foot or motor vehicle to enforce university rules and regulations, as well as federal, state, and local laws.
* Secure campus by checking doors, lights, and ground areas, ensuring that all facilities are secured at designated times.
* Identify safety and security issues with DSU buildings, submit work orders as required.
* For emergencies concerning operation needs contact facilities immediately.
* Respond to calls for service and conduct initial investigations of crimes, incidents, and Injuries occurring on DSU property and notify proper authorities while submitting appropriate reports.
* Understand and practice all Clery, Title IX, FERPA and any other applicable laws and regulations.
* Provide safety escorts for campus community members.
* Develop and maintain working relationships and communicate regularly with members of the DSU campus community, its stakeholders, and partners.
* Provide presentations on personal safety, self-protection, sexual assault awareness, alcohol and drug awareness, winter safety, and any other programs as requested by the University community, including the general public.
* Recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions.
* Direct traffic and personnel as required.
* Enforce parking regulations.
* Complete and submit a daily log and written reports at the end of each shift in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Act.
* Have operational knowledge of DSU's Emergency Management and Safety Plans and Procedures.
* Respond to and manage all emergencies and disaster on campus and assist First Responders as needed.
* Assist DSU students, faculty and staff with in-service training programs, drills, and exercises relevant to campus security, emergency & risk management.
* Complete required training in emergency management (FEMA) including ICS and NIMS training.
* Conduct training and drills as assigned.
* Complete all assigned training and drills as required.
* As incidents occur, record, and report the following to the Director of Public Safety:
* Violations of the DSU, NDUS, SBHE policies, and local, state and federal laws.
* All on-campus incidents and crimes.
* All major off-campus incidents involving faculty, staff, and students.
* All emergency and first responder (Law Enforcement, Fire, Ambulance, etc.) responses to campus.
* Unique security activities not otherwise identified above.
* Assist with the management of Lost and Found.
* Assist with the management of ProWatch, ID cards and access control.
* Identify and assist with Blue Hawk Safe Security Applications.
* Assist with social media, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.
* Issue parking permits.
* Complete all training as required or assigned under NDUS, DSU, and DSU Office of Public Safety.
* Perform other duties as assigned or requested
* Additional Responsibilities to the University, as needed

The City of Friendswood is currently hiring for full-time POLICE OFFICERS, with the Police Department. The successful candidates will be responsible for the performance of routine patrol, crisis intervention and preliminary criminal investigations in an active, problem-solving partnership with the community. Applicants must demonstrate good human relation skills and be able to work well with all segments of the public.
Applicants must meet only ONE of the following requirements:
TCOLE Certified;
Enrolled in a TCOLE accredited entry-level program (police academy);

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically at a busy port and subject to frequent interruptions with long periods of standing or walking. Extended hours to include nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
