The Police Officer Entry Level position exists specifically for the purpose of training the incumbent to develop the minimum qualifications necessary to become a sworn police officer. Typically, the candidate has not yet entered or completed the POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Basic Academy. If you are a Police Officer Cadet candidate who successfully completes the hiring process with the San José State University Police Department, you will be attending the POST Basic Academy. Upon successful completion of the Academy (within the required timeframe), and at the discretion of management, the Police Officer Cadet may be appointed to the classification of Police Officer.
The POST Basic Academy is an 888-hour course that satisfies all minimum required training mandates governed by POST or entry level Law Enforcement. The course includes fundamental principles, procedures and techniques of law enforcement, including: Criminal Law, Patrol Procedures, Cultural Diversity, Investigative Procedures, Report Writing, Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Leadership, Ethics, Community Relations, Police Vehicle Operations, Traffic Enforcement, Accident Investigation and First Aid/CPR. JOB DESCRIPTION
Patrol Officer
Represent yourself, Hammer Head Security and our clients with complete professionalism.
Patrol multiple properties by company patrol vehicle and by foot when necessary, executing each of the different site specific Post Orders.
Write detailed narrative reports using company reporting standards and tools to communicate with the Hammer Head Dispatch Center.
Maintain a strong, visible point of control at each property to establish a physical command presence deterring theft and/or loitering
Actively enforce all Client and Home Owner Association rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to all emergency situations requiring security assistance.
Respond to calls for assistance by clients and fellow Hammer Head SecurityOfficers throughout the different company worksites in a specific region.

CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:
1. Government issued driver's license
2. Personal DMV printout of clean driving record

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess 3 years of Security Experience and 1 Year of Company Vehicle Patrol Experience. Only Officers with Company Vehicle Patrol Experience will be considered.
2. Officers must be in good physical condition, enabling them to perform the full range of securityofficer duties. Officers must be fully capable of performing work requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion under either normal or emergency conditions.
