Position Overview
The Police Patrol Officer is responsible for a general duty of investigatory
police work in the protection of life and property, prevention of crime,
investigation of crimes, apprehension of criminals and the general
enforcement of local, state and federal laws and ordinances.
Essential Job Functions

months in the Patrolman 2nd class classification.
Required Licenses or Certificates
Must possess valid Mississippi driver's license.

The Security Officer provides for the safety and protection of guests, crewmembers and company property. The officer is tasked with anticipating potential threats or harmful activities and seeking ways to intervene in order to prevent injuries or disruptions from occurring.
Monitors and assists in the enforcement of company and departmental policies and procedures and federal, state and local laws pertaining to gaming and criminal.
Oversees the transportation and exchange of all money transactions with Player Services, the count room, table games, and all other venues as needed. This includes fills, markers, credits, slot drops, table drops, F & B escorts, etc. Surveillance must be made aware of any money movements.
Operates a security control communications center at the casino security dispatch office (as assigned), monitoring emergencies, handling incoming telephone calls, dispatching officers, monitoring radio calls, and disseminating BOLO alert information.
Maintains a visible and accessible profile among guests and crewmembers to create a sense of security, to deter potential problems and to answer questions.
Responds to emergency calls, and depending on the circumstances, intervenes to stop crimes and disputes in progress and/or renders first aid to guests and crewmembers as needed.
Notifies supervisor on duty if outside agencies, such as the police or paramedics, must be contacted.
Monitors suspicious persons in the casino/hotel and outside areas particularly those attempting to enter unauthorized areas.
At the direction of the supervisor or Operations management, evicts undesirables as needed.
Executes extreme weather, terrorist, fire and bomb threat procedures as directed by the supervisor.
Provides an escort to premium players who wish to transport cash and/or other valuables to their hotel room or car.
Administers lost and found policy by logging found items and advising guests of proper procedure for claiming and recovering items.
Assists hotel management with lockouts, lost luggage claims, missing property reports and welfare checks as needed.
Prepares all reports for the shift including accident, incident and injury, missing property and damage reports in a factual, legible, and timely manner.
When assigned to dispatch, maintains control of designated keys. Checks the key lists for authorized persons to be allowed in areas requested.
Monitors the casino gaming areas, entrances and exits to ensure minors do not enter the gaming areas without authorization.
Provides immediate back-up as requested to officers who are dispatched to handle emergency calls.
Interacts with and greets all guests and fellow crewmembers in a positive, uplifting manner.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Must have - or be able to obtain - a Mississippi Gaming License.
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Role:
Executes security duties on assigned shift to adequately protect the life and property of guests, employees, and the property.
Responsibilities:

Escorts and observes guests and employees to ensure their safety and protection.

Knows hazardous materials used on property and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing same.
Serves as dispatcher during emergency situations, as needed, and coordinates solutions.
Informs outside agencies of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
Operates company vehicles as directed.
Ensures safe transportation of company monies and gaming tokens.
Assists in the opening and closing of gaming tables.
Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained throughout the property. Lives by the Hard Rock values.
Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
Maintains a series of keys to access locked areas, as necessary.
Requests and accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the age of 21 to ensure compliance with federal and state gaming regulations.
Qualifications:

Ability to obtain a MS Gaming Work Permit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
* Responsible for maintaining knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations that apply to the functions and duties of the Security Department.
* Maintains a security booth and completes records using shift activity log according to established guidelines.
* Safeguards the assets of property, its guests, team members, and provides a safe environment for guests and team members.
* Performs chip and credit transactions, money and marker transfers, and verifies amounts by signature, in accordance with established guidelines and Mississippi Gaming Commission regulations.
* Responds to all emergencies according to established guidelines. Radios for backup and notifies a member of the Security leadership team immediately.
* Communicates with Security, Casino Operations, Player Services, Surveillance, and all other departments as needed according to established guidelines.
* Responsible for checking identification of guests according to established responsible gaming guidelines and Mississippi Gaming Commission regulations. Escalates potential issues and/or concerns to a member of the Security leadership team.
* Responsible for greeting guests with a positive, upbeat attitude upon them entering and exiting the property.
* Responsible for performing walking and/or driving escorts as assigned.
* Responsible for roaming parking lot as assigned.
* Responds to guest needs according to guest service, policy, and procedure expectations. Escalates potential issues and/or concerns to a member of the Security leadership team as needed.
* Reports all illnesses and injuries to appropriate Security Team Member. Contacts appropriate Security Team Member to provide appropriate information for report and perform minor first aid as needed.

In the event of witnessing or responding to a fight or verbal confrontation, uses the minimal amount of force or restraint necessary to control the situation.
* Responsible for remaining alert always while on duty. Escalates potential issues and/or safety concerns immediately to a member of the Security leadership team as needed.
* Informs guests of all property events, safety hazards, and answers guest questions regarding property information.
* Surveys and watches crowd always and stops inappropriate behavior immediately.
* Follows all guest cut off procedures according to established guidelines.
* Ensures work area is always clean and free of safety hazards. Escalates potential issues and/or safety concerns immediately to a member of the Security leadership team as needed.
* Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.
* Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
* Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.

Deliver or pick up and reconcile the valuables at a customer's location
Maintain radio communication with the vehicle crew and dispatch personnel to ensure a secure transaction

Minimum Requirements:
At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
