Key job responsibilities
AWS Hardware Engineering is looking for a customer-obsessed, team-driven technology leader to take our engineering of server hardware and software to the next level. As a System Development Manager, you will work on Amazon's hardest problems, driving the team that owns the designs and operations for compute and accelerator-based products.
You will manage a mix of software and system engineers that are pushing the technology envelope with novel inventions to design and validate products at scale. You will understand the current infrastructure and come up with plans to improve the tools and processes for designing, validating and monitoring fleet performance of the products.
Interacting with internal interdisciplinary teams, you will oversee the platform development efforts and the test content and work with the component partner teams to drive the requirements for the platform. You will oversee the system integration, development and testing for the tools that validate sub systems(CPU/memory/PCIe/power etc). You will standardize testing and define telemetry and alarming for the platforms the team designs. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading edge IT organization experience

Key Responsibilities
ProjectManagement
Own the VDC/BIM process for electrical scopes, from project setup to execution and final closeout.
Manage electrical model development, coordination efforts, and installation drawings.
People Management: Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with appropriate stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
Scheduling: Oversee and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Coordinator and VDC Specialists.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation measures.
Lead BIM coordination meetings, ensuring mechanical layouts align with electrical, plumbing, and structural trades.
Estimating: Prepare accurate and strategic cost estimates and project proposals.
Conduct site visits to validate constructability, resolve field issues, and support installation teams.
Change Management: Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that the project team adheres to project requirements.
Resource Management: Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
Ensure electrical models and prefabrication drawings meet contractual and field installation requirements.
Work with electrical contractors to develop prefabrication strategies, spool drawings, and material takeoffs.
Review shop drawings, submittals, and specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Assist in power and lighting layouts, underground conduit routing, and panelboard coordination.
Client & Business Development Support
Serve as the primary technical cooperator for electrical contractors: foremen and projectmanagers.
Support cost estimating, scope development, and change order tracking for electrical VDC work.
Contribute to marketing efforts, proposal development, and industry networking opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities
The position is responsible for collaborating with clients and leading teams and projects in the HDR San Francisco Health, or Education and Science "Ed-Sci" Studio. In Health, project types include hospitals, clinics and other related facilities; In Ed-Sci, projects include research and development facilities for academic, government, corporate sector and biopharma clients. Projects may include a variety of health delivery, research, imaging, metrology, teaching, testing, and pre-production facilities in the areas of public health, life sciences, physical sciences, biocontainment, related support facilities and other.
In the role of ProjectManager, we'll count on you to:
Independently coordinate work of Project Architects and balance multidiscipline teams throughout the entire project's development
Be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
Facilitate design work sessions during all phases of delivery with the client and their representatives; and facilitate sessions in collaboration with the Project Architect and other disciplines as required to advance the work throughout all phases of delivery
Coordinate staffing workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule and internal labor budget
Work with the Regional Controller and Managing Principal for project reviews with corporate management as needed
Work with Quality Management Coordinator to facilitate quality meetings throughout all phases of project development
Participate in marketing activities representing projectmanagement requirements of proposals, schedules, fees, interview teams, etc.
Strengthen client relations through excellence in project delivery

Creates lighting set ups and/or works within current set ups
