United States Postal Inspection Service CEO and leadership

As Deputy Chief Inspector - Security and Crime Prevention, I am responsible for the Communications, Governance, and Strategy Group; the Domestic and Global Security Headquarters Group, the Career Development Unit, and the Forensic Laboratory Services. I was promoted to the role of Inspector in Charge for the National Headquarters Communications, Governance & Strategy Group in 2016, and led the teams performing business analytics, governance, strategic planning, government relations and public affairs. I was selected for the position of Inspector in Charge of Washington Field Division in 2018, where I oversaw the daily operations of 187 personnel throughout the Washington D.C. area. I begin serving as Acting Deputy Chief Inspector - Headquarters in July 2021 and was named Deputy Chief Inspector in February 2022.

I started my career with the U.S. Postal Service in 1993 as a letter carrier and held various technical and managerial positions until I was appointed as a Postal Inspector in 2002. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations degree from Susquehanna University.

David Bowers is a Deputy Chief Inspector at U.S. Postal Inspection Service and is based in Washington, D.C.. He has worked as Assistant Inspector in Charge at U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Program Manager, Postal Security at Universal Postal Union. David attended DXC Eclipse between 1982 and 1987.
