Happy National Snack Day! In celebration of this light-hearted holiday, we explored each state’s favorite snack.

Snacking has become a beloved pastime for workers everywhere, especially during those long hours at the desk. While lunchtime is important, let’s face it—most of the day revolves around snack time.

From coast to coast, hungry professionals are crinkling chip wrappers and dropping coins into vending machines to satisfy their cravings. Below, you can explore how we determined each state’s favorite snacks, along with some of our most intriguing findings.

How We Determined This

Using Google Trends, we identified which states showed the highest interest in various snacks. We analyzed 45 different snack options, ensuring a diverse representation of popular treats.

In our quest for snack supremacy, we excluded gum and sodas from our survey, as they don’t quite fit into the snack category. Instead, we focused on a mix of chips, cookies, candies, and other vending machine staples.

Go Forth and Snack

So there you have it—each state’s favorite snack! Some choices are delicious, while others might leave you asking, “Who even eats PayDays?” (That would be Louisiana, by the way.)

This fun exploration proves there’s a snack for every palate. While you might be mindful of your health most days, National Snack Day is the perfect occasion to indulge—perhaps skip the apple and opt for something a bit more decadent.
