Play a leading role in datacenter site selection and technical due diligence at Amazon. You will lead technical site due diligence projects, partnering with stakeholders across the AWS infrastructure organization, to shape the future of AWS' infrastructure growth and investments.
You will play a key role in site selection and site due diligence for new and existing AWS regions. You will scope the technical studies and analysis required to appropriately evaluate prospective datacenter sites, hire and oversee the work of engineering and technical consultancies, understand the inter-relationships between technical disciplines, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and interpret the results of this analysis to make site acquisition, design, engineering, and technology recommendations. You will evaluate the impact of identified site risks and constraints on development costs and schedules.
The right person for this role will have a strong track record of technical program management, the demonstrated ability to deliver multiple high priority projects simultaneously, the ability to drive alignment across teams with competing priorities, and be a strong advocate for technical risk management.

This position requires direct experience in state policy engagement, the ability to establish and maintain a network of relationships with state and federal policymakers on both sides of the aisle and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working collaboratively with partners from the U.S. government, environmental, business and consumer organizations, industry, and academia. Develop and maintain a sophisticated internal understanding of the state-level political landscape within our focus region, including executive branches and state legislatures;

Stay current on state developments relevant to the Regional Clean Economies initiative, i.e., track and maintain a calendar of key legislative session dates for all states within the target region, identify key legislators for engagement, and inform strategy development with the Director of Advocacy and Regional Clean Economies initiative;
Establish and maintain a network of relationships with key state legislative offices, governors' offices, and state agencies in the focus region for the Regional Clean Economies initiative;

Coordinate federal policy advocacy relevant to the Regional Clean Economies initiative, i.e., building and maintaining relationships with federal congressional offices in the target regions and supporting planning and logistics for federal fly-ins with regional stakeholders;
In coordination with the Director of Advocacy, support C2ES's federal advocacy on the policy topics and regions where there is overlap;
Keep a record of time spent on lobbying activities in a timely and routine basis for LDA and IRS reports;
Contribute to a positive organizational culture, including by participating in regular events such as all-staff meetings and meetings of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Council, and by seeking to model the organization's values.
Additional Responsibilities for the Senior Manager Include:
Leverage existing relationships with one or more advocacy groups operating in the region to expand ambitious support for the Regional Clean Economies initiative's policy priorities;
Lead the development and implementation of an engagement strategy for state policymakers;
Lead the development and execution of events and fly-ins for key stakeholders to advance federal policy objectives;;
Proactively identify opportunities for coordinated state and federal advocacy on policy topics and regions where there is overlap.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, environmental or energy policy, political science, or international affairs;
At least 4-7 years of experience working on climate or energy policy at the state or local level in government, at a nonprofit organization, or with industry;
Established relationships with state legislators or their staff in at least one of the current target states in the Southeast region (AL, GA, NC, SC, TN), and with other energy stakeholders;
Understanding of legislative process;
A willingness to register as a lobbyist;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and with guidance;
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills;
Commitment to, knowledge of, or experience in advancing issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental/climate justice;

Additional Qualifications for the Senior Manager Include:

• As an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), you ensure the smooth running of your store through your strong leadership and deployment of the store team.
• Demonstrate effective ownership of key responsibilities to supervise and lead the store team and operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day routines & procedures. Hold the store team accountable for consistent standards appropriate for their position, addressing opportunities promptly and fairly. • As an Assistant Store Manager who supports the Sales Leads, Senior Sales Leads, and Customer Sales Associates, you will be expected to be a leader and put the proper emphasis on building an incredible team and creating positive employee experiences. Success will come from your engagement and accountability in the ongoing commitment to our store's talent as you recruit, interview, train, and develop talented team members.
• Support solid execution of associate rosters and schedules aligning with the budget and business needs so store scheduling is balanced and staffed to effectively and smoothly run the store, collaborating with Store Manager, Area Manager or Regional Manager as appropriate.
• As an ASM you will continue to develop your leadership skills to effectively guide and direct the Sales Leads, Sr. Sales Leads, and Customer Sales Associates and to hold this team accountable to strong, consistent performance. You will continue to deliver results through the ability to effectively and strategically lead, supervise, motivate, and ensure accountability of your team to perform in a performance driven culture.
What You Do
• Ensure consistent, friendly and informed service to customers, first by the example you set and second by the training and delivery of best-in-class service by the store team.
• Ensure a vibrant store through the execution of visual merchandising and replenishment standards, showing a commitment to maintaining a neat, tidy, shoppable and inviting presentation.
• Drive top line sales by guiding the entire team to leverage key campaigns and services, such as new item launches, promotions, enterprise orders, etc., to actively hand sell and engage in conversation with every customer.
• Partner and provide insight and ongoing feedback on associate achievements and/or performance concerns. As an Assistant Manager you will be expected to provide meaningful input for performance reviews, hiring decisions, associate promotions, and disciplinary decisions. Communicating examples and contributing to the creation of documentation as appropriate.
• Develop the Sr. Sales Leads, Sales Leads, and Customer Sales Associates, through engagement and coaching; work with the team by providing performance feedback to assess and focus on individual strengths, and when associates' interests align, work to train and advance their potential for career pathing within the company. Provide coaching through their experiences, observations and examples with associates, and play an active role to assess when performance merits to recommend the associate for further development in the store.
• Assess the store from the customer's perspective and use insight to seek and influence improvements.
• Drive results during assigned Manager on Duty (MOD) segments by delivering sales and behaviors that meet the store's performance targets and coaching other store team leaders to develop MOD skills.
• Ensure the achievement of sales goals and deliver operational excellence to maximize efficiency and minimize loss through timely execution of all processes.
• Ensure compliance to Company standards as it pertains to safety, customer experience and all store operations, including asset protection (controlling shrink, expense, and payroll).
• Communicate with your store team respectfully and with urgency on key issues and messages, creating a culture that demonstrates the values of the company.
• Open and close the building, ensuring the safety of our employees and customers.
• Work on the selling floor, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, climbing).
