The Financial CaseManager's primary responsibility is to provide financial counseling to patients and families, including insurance benefit education, responding to financial inquiries, and collecting and processing co-pays and deductibles in accordance with ARS policies and procedures. In addition, the role supports CaseManagement functions by ensuring compliance with State and Federal guidelines, participating in discharge planning, completing discharge needs assessments, coordinating aftercare services and appointments, and collaborating with the treatment team, payors, and facility leadership to support continuity of care.
Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:
Core Job Duties:
Serve as the primary financial counselor for patients, providing education on insurance benefits, financial responsibility, billing policies, and payment options.
Verify and validate patient insurance benefits and financial responsibility by first reviewing the UR Daily Census column to assess the daily status of insurance coverage, followed by checks in approved payer portals (e.g., InstaMed, NaviNet, Availity, or other designated systems), and conducting live payor calls as needed for inactive, unclear, or unresolved coverage.
Collect private pay fees, co-pays, and insurance deductibles within 72 hours of admission for inpatient and outpatient clients, in accordance with the "Collection of Patient Responsibility" policy.
Ensure completion and signature of all required financial and admission-related documentation within 72 hours of admission, including but not limited to billing acknowledgments, payment plans, advance repayment agreements, coordination of benefits, authorized claims representative forms, and the initial CaseManagement Discharge Plan (CMDP).
Facilitate payment arrangements and advance repayment agreements when co-pays or deductibles are not immediately collectible and notify leadership as needed.
Collaborate with the Admissions/RCM team to resolve collection barriers and secure (at minimum) agreed-upon payments at the time of admission.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all financial transactions, co-pay and deductible activity, and payment arrangements within the electronic medical record.
Work closely with Facility Leadership (Site CEO) and Aftercare Manager to ensure consistent financial processes and patient support.
Maintain open communication with the multidisciplinary treatment team regarding financial considerations that may impact treatment engagement or discharge planning.
Requirements
Bachelors' Degree in health-related field, Finance/Accounting or Medical Management office experience preferred. Minimum high school diploma.
Minimum one- or two-years' experience, preferred experience in the medical, behavioral healthcare or financial field.
Familiar with community resources and proficient in providing, discussing, and resolving financial issues and policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Conducts initial overview of the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program, describes eligibility requirements and program benefits, evaluates applicants with disabilities, and confers with medical and professional personnel to determine type and degree of impairment, eligibility for service, and feasibility of vocational rehabilitation; accepts or recommends acceptance of suitable candidates and provides intake paperwork, including obtaining required signatures.
Assists in developing an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) and portfolio for eligible clients.
Collects information concerning potential job placements and determines compatibility between the job and participant based on the individual's disability.
Assists each person in becoming an active participant in the rehabilitation program by providing meaningful and informed choices about the selection of a vocational goal and other rehabilitation services.
Works holistically towards empowering individuals with disabilities by maximizing their employment opportunities, economic self-sufficiency, independence, inclusion, and integration into society.
Maintains collaborative relationships with other CIT agencies, schools, businesses, hospitals, and other government agencies to maximize the effectiveness of vocational rehabilitation services.
Provides information and links to educational and employment opportunities as appropriate and in accordance with the participant's IPE.
Conducts outreach to employers for collaboration on placement and work opportunities; promotes and develops job openings and places qualified applicants in employment.
Develops knowledge of community resources, including colleges and network assistance, to assist participants and obtain comparable services.
Maintains client record system and statistics; facilitates counseling sessions for individuals, families, and groups.
Develops and presents community education and outreach to increase knowledge and understanding of Tribal programs, problems, and related issues, and to identify potential applicants.
Coordinates the delivery of programs with the WA State Department of Vocational and Rehabilitation services and other social service agencies to maximize the availability of services to consumers in an efficient, professional, and timely manner.
Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and other documents.
Purchases goods and services for participants as needed and in compliance with policies and procedures.
Provides excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations.
Maintains strict confidentiality and presents a positive, professional demeanor and image.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
Master's degree preferred.
Two years' social work or vocational rehabilitation experience.
A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.
Experience working within American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities preferred.
A valid driver's license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
Must be able to successfully pass a background screening/investigation according to the established requirements below.

Position Summary
Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) Consultation is an indirect, multilevel service in which consultants' partner with the adults in young children's lives to build their capacity to foster healthy social-emotional development.[1] In this program, consultants partner with and support early childhood care and education providers, in center- and home-based settings.
IECMH Consultants receive specialized training to provide IECMH consultation through an evidence-based framework. This project's broad goals include reducing rates of suspension/expulsion from ECE settings, and more specifically to reduce race disparities in the rates of suspension/expulsion. Therefore, this position will require a strong commitment to equity, anti-bias, and anti-racist practices. Culturally specific and culturally responsive services are important to the success of the program. Consultants whose race, ethnicity, culture, and/or language are representative of the community served are strongly encouraged to apply.
The IECMH Consultant will work with their peers from CAIRO, and Black Parent Initiative, as well as Technical Assistance from Multnomah County CCR&R to serve licensed childcare centers, licensed group childcare homes, registered family childcare homes, childcare aides, and relative care providers in Multnomah County. The Consultant will develop collaborative relationships with parents, professionals, and organizations in the community who also serve infants, young children, and families. The IECMH Consultant will function as part of the CAIRO Workforce Development team, under the supervision of the Director of Workforce Development. Driving required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Providing relationship-based, preventive interventions to promote the mental health of infants and young children and address behaviors that put them at risk of suspension/expulsion from early learning and childcare settings.
Supporting ongoing communication with teachers/providers about early relational health and/or developmental concerns related to infants and young children.
Developing written intervention strategies and using a collaborative approach to assist providers with implementing strategies that promote infants' and young children's optimal social-emotional development.
Using independent judgment and discretion in setting daily priorities to complete tasks.

BHU resources also provide emergency responders with additional options to divert individuals to behavioral health resources as an alternative to incarceration which have not been readily available in the past. BHU members cultivate and maintain professional relationships with organizations in the community that provide behavioral health resources to direct and refer individuals to the appropriate community resources. These resources could include in-patient and outpatient mental health and SUD services, respite care, primary care clinics, and other support services. BHU members work closely with the department's Community Outreach Coordinator addressing individuals in crisis due to homelessness. BHU members also assist the department's Community Outreach Coordinator in following up on individuals who are in the Therapeutic Court program. In addition to responding with officers to incidents, the Crisis Response Specialists have access to view pending police calls for service within the computer-aided-dispatch system. When it is safe and appropriate, Crisis Response Specialists may respond to incidents involving community members experiencing a behavioral health crisis without a police officer present.
This position is Grant funded and is a limited duration position with the possibility of being extended.
Incumbents will be subject to passing an extensive pre-employment criminal background check.

Join one of California's premier hospital systems as a CaseManager Assistant and help deliver exceptional, patient‑centered care! * Support discharge planning with CaseManagers and Social Workers * Assess post‑hospital needs and help determine appropriate discharge requirements
* Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and transportation services
* Communicate patient preferences, provider options, and discharge timelines
* Provide benefit coverage information and collaborate with payers as needed
* Monitor progress toward discharge goals and escalate barriers appropriately
* Facilitate transfers to post‑acute facilities, including preparing documents and obtaining signatures
* Support utilization review transmission and manage high‑volume faxes, voicemails, and data entry
* Participate in daily rounds, huddles, and team discussions to support timely discharge planning
* Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR, including care coordination notes and referral updates
* Close discharge cases in Allscripts and ensure all required information is captured
* Perform clerical tasks such as scanning, faxing, copying, and completing departmental reporting
* Communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, and external partners
* Resolve issues using effective communication while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
* Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and minimal supervision
* Demonstrate strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
Requirements:
EPIC is required
Must have health insurance knowledge
Must have 1 year of recent healthcare experience within inpatient or outpatient experience
High school diploma or equivalent

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
