Design/Build Project Crew will report to the Install Lead/Foreperson. They will help install commercial and residential urban landscapes, including amenity terraces, ground level gardens, tree pits, green roofs, green walls, and indoor tropical spaces. Project Crew will also help install hardscaping components (such as custom carpentry, masonry, and stone/pavers), and will implement basic assembly techniques of non-plant installations.
Design/Build Project Crew have experience with - or a quick ability to learn - landscape installations, irrigation systems, basic construction, or carpentry (or similar technical skills). Crew Members must be able to work together within a team, stepping up to help others.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and breakdown scaffolds, install ladders, walkways and handrails

Clean and prepare construction sites, including removing debris and materials
Load and unload equipment and materials form truck and vehicles
Study plans and equipment lists prior to on-site installation
Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed; including wearing and use of safety equipment
Maintain fall protection requirements while erecting / dismantling scaffolds
Make sure that tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained properly at the end of each shift
Ensure full client satisfaction in relation to the quality of service and finished product within planned time schedules

As a Tree Climber with SavATree, you'll be a key member of our General Tree Care Team. This team works on a variety of tree care tasks, including pruning, removals, and cabling. ABOUT THE POSITION:
Brooklyn Grange, the world's leading soil-based rooftop farm business and premier NYC landscaping firm, is seeking focused, positive, hard-working team members to help our Design/Build team install off-site, client based green roofs and urban landscapes on a part-time, project-to-project basis.
Design/Build Project Crew will report to the Install Lead/Foreperson. They will help install commercial and residential urban landscapes, including amenity terraces, ground level gardens, tree pits, green roofs, green walls, and indoor tropical spaces. Project Crew will also help install hardscaping components (such as custom carpentry, masonry, and stone/pavers), and will implement basic assembly techniques of non-plant installations.
Design/Build Project Crew have experience with - or a quick ability to learn - landscape installations, irrigation systems, basic construction, or carpentry (or similar technical skills). Crew Members must be able to work together within a team, stepping up to help others.
The work involves physical labor in varied weather conditions, early mornings, travel to sites in NYC, and compliance with safety policies and wellbeing requirements.
SCHEDULE:
Installations and schedule will vary. Install Lead or the Director of Design/Build will reach out monthly to identify upcoming Projects for which Project Crew may be needed. Project Crew can determine whether to work a proposed project or decline. Some work days can be expected to begin at 6:30AM.
