Under general supervision of the Military & Family Readiness Program Supervisor, this position is responsible for the administration of the Family Readiness program for the Wisconsin National Guard. The Family Readiness program is made up of many organizations providing a vast array of services to service members and their family members. These positions will provide information and outreach to service members and their families; coordinate activities of different agencies and organizations in providing services; and collaborate with community-based organizations, state and federal agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the needs of the service members and families are met.
Salary Information
Starting pay is $26.68.
The position is in the 07-04 pay schedule/range. A 12-month probation will be required.
For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
The schedule for this position will generally be Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. with occasional weekend support work. The exact schedule will be determined with the candidate at the time of offer.
This position is eligible for limited telework after an initial training period.
The Department of Military Affairs does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.

Job Details
The Military and Family Readiness Specialist provides support in the administration of Military and Family Readiness services for the Army.
Conditions of Employment
* Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
* In order to gain access to the military facilities and to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled, DMA will conduct a comprehensive background check.
* In addition, the position requires a Common Access Card (CAC). A CAC requires successful completion of a Department of Defense investigation for gaining access to federal computer systems, restricted locations, or classified information.
* Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
* The employee may be required to support and resource emergency family assistance centers.
* A twelve-month probationary period is required
* All new permanent, project, and limited term employees will be required to report to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) in Madison on the Monday of their first week of employment for the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program. Additional information will be sent to the new employees and their supervisors on the Tuesday prior to NEO.
Qualifications
Candidates who meet minimum qualifications will have experience with:

The specialist will conduct evaluations using evidenced-based evaluation rating tools, will implement case and treatment plans and will delivery evidence-based substance abuse programming. The specialist will develop and implement therapeutic and behavioral interventions to improve a persons' in our care (PIOC) success in completing program requirements.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 12-64 with a starting pay of $27.84/hour - $34.34/hour.
This position may receive a $1.00 to $2.00 per hour add-on pay based on the type of SAC credential possessed at the time of hire.
Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past 5 years may be eligible to accept a sign-on bonus of $3,000. The sign-on bonus will be paid in two installments: $1500 on the first paycheck and $1500 with the paycheck for the pay period in which the employee attains permanent status (usually 1 year). (UW System employment isn't disqualifying.)
To receive the bonus, a candidate must sign an agreement indicating they will remain in that position for a year. If the candidate leaves their position prior to completing the one year, they may be required to reimburse the initial payment.
