This position works under the support and direction of the Area/Regional VP, Operations and onsite Program Directors to enhance the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes of students through use of evidence-based interventions and in collaboration with the operations and educational staff from each campus within assigned area. ‖ Responsibilities Include: Delivering comprehensive training and continuous guidance to teachers and educational staff in designing impactful Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and quality of academic instruction and behavioral support services provided to students, ensuring exceptional outcomes. Supporting Spectrum staff by modeling, reinforcing, and enhancing instructional best practices to promote student growth aligned with Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. Implementing evidence-based interventions by applying scientifically proven behavioral and educational strategies, promoting positive outcomes in academic, social, emotional, and independent functioning. Providing crisis management intervention and support for students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behavior and developing strategies to reduce the need for 1:1 staffing. Collaborating closely with on-site education teams to collect and analyze data on student behavior, monitor student progress, and ensure appropriate intervention responsiveness and consistent progress toward goals. Conducting regular quality checks for each campus within assigned region at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels; making recommendations for improvement based on analysis of data. Supporting the development of on-site teams within assigned the area through delivery of training on behavioral assessment, intervention, positive behavior supports, data collection, crisis management, and other relevant topics. Providing guidance and supervision to staff members within assigned region pursuing BACB certification (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA), as agreed with the Program Director or VP of Behavior Services. Assisting in the development and implementation of improvement plans for assigned campuses to enhance student performance and staff effectiveness. Engaging in multi-disciplinary on-site and regional team meetings to discuss behavioral needs and contribute to the development of comprehensive support strategies. Monitoring and ensuring adherence of all campuses to Department of Education regulations and internal standards for educational and behavioral service is maintained within assigned area. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, progress, and compliance activities. Providing operational support to all schools in the assigned area, focusing on academic achievement, behavioral support, staff retention, and development. Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned to support organizational goals and student success. ‖ Qualifications Required: Master's degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral therapy, special education or a closely related field of study. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education specialist or special education instruction credential preferred. Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver's license. Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), data-based decision making, and functional behavior analysis (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP).     Responsible for directing and providing crisis intervention and advocacy to victims of child abuse, elder abuse (family violence), domestic violence and sexual assault. This position works as part of an overall team to provide services and support through agency programs, partners and outside resources provided by collaborative agencies. The Legal Services Advocate role is a non-mandated reporter position. The Legal Advocate is responsible for civil legal assistance to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, including victims of family violence. The legal services advocate will be responsible for efficiently processing temporary restraining order applications in collaboration with clients. All civil legal services and advocacy support are client led and may be facilitated in collaboration with other victim services providers. This may include accompanying clients to appointments and interviews with law enforcement, the district attorney's office, and court proceedings. In addition to providing civil legal assistance to clients, the legal services advocate may also provide crisis intervention, assessment, referral, and other supportive services to clients seeking support at One SAFE Place. Services may be provided to victims in person, over the phone, and in community-based settings. Duties: Provide assistance to domestic violence/sexual assault victims in obtaining protective orders Provide advocacy in Family Court, including pre-court orientation, court advocacy and accompaniment, accompaniment upon request to mediation meetings Responsible for recording court decisions in client files via agency case management database. Work in collaboration with volunteer Family Court Advocates, navigators, and volunteer legal professionals Participate in and support a professional and collaborative working relationship with Family Court staff including Superior Court office clerks, judges, and mediators. Stay current on legislation and county court rules as it relates to legal assistance for domestic violence, sexual assault, and family violence victims. Participate in the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council Committees as assigned by supervisor Answer client phone inquiries, providing crisis intervention and referrals as appropriate Provide domestic violence/sexual assault crisis counseling and related client services, as needed Attend and participate in relevant trainings and monthly in-service meetings as scheduled by supervisor. Work with supervisor to acquire state certification as a domestic violence and sexual assault counselor. Remain in good standing by completing ongoing professional development training hours. Support training of volunteers and staff on how to assist clients with restraining orders. Legal Services Advocate Abilities: Ability to comprehend the practical application of basic legal forms. Ability to appropriately execute legal forms specific to temporary restraining orders and child custody orders. Ability to multitask direct client contact with the demands of the client's basic legal paperwork. Ability to manage multiple client court dates and legal paperwork due dates. Ability to manage basic web-based applications, including Tyler Odyssey and LawYaw. Basic knowledge of court etiquette, dress, and procedures. Request the patient sign a waiver for release of information which will allow communication with the other practitioner in case of need (e.g., deterioration of the patient's condition). Flag high-risk patients to the Medical Directors, Physician Extenders, and Regional Clinical Leadership (RCL) and highlight the conditions concerned. Refer such patients to the Medical Directors, Physician Extenders or RCLs (Regional Clinical Leadership) based on the urgency, utilizing the informal Referral Policy or the scheduled Treatment Team/Case Conference session. Review physician notes, following the Medical Directors or Physician Extenders' session with the patient, verifying that they noted and addressed the high-risk factor, or otherwise bring it immediately to the attention of the supervising counselor, as well as the clinic manager, until the matter's proper and professional handling by the physician or physician extender. Provide professional counseling and referral services by: Addressing patients' clinical and special needs by maintaining referrals to specialized (“second tier”) services rendered by physicians, physician extenders and counselors within Aegis, as well as referrals to Keys to Recovery (or other twelve-step) support groups, and other community resources (e.g., agencies and practitioners outside of Aegis), acting as a liaison to these agencies, as necessary. Providing individual and group counseling as clinically necessary, to address the problem issues identified in the Initial Assessment and Treatment Plans. Review and ask about other practitioners' involvement in the treatment of these high-risk conditions. Recommend immediate referral to such a specialist in case of need. Request the patient sign a waiver for release of information which will allow communication with the other practitioner in case of need (e.g., deterioration of the patient's condition). Flag high-risk patients to the Medical Directors, Physician Extenders, and Regional Clinical Leadership (RCL) and highlight the conditions concerned. Refer such patients to the Medical Directors, Physician Extenders or RCLs (Regional Clinical Leadership) based on the urgency, utilizing the informal Referral Policy or the scheduled Treatment Team/Case Conference session. Review physician notes, following the Medical Directors or Physician Extenders' session with the patient, verifying that they noted and addressed the high-risk factor, or otherwise bring it immediately to the attention of the supervising counselor, as well as the clinic manager, until the matter's proper and professional handling by the physician or physician extender. Advise, in writing, other staff members (including the clinic manager, supervising counselor, dispensing nurse and front office) of high-risk patients and their condition. Maintain and circulate minutes from treatment team/case conference sessions to the other staff members. Provide professional counseling and referral services by: Addressing patients' clinical and special needs by maintaining referrals to specialized (“second tier”) services rendered by physicians, physician extenders and counselors within Aegis, as well as referrals to Keys to Recovery (or other twelve-step) support groups, and other community resources (e.g., agencies and practitioners outside of Aegis), acting as a liaison to these agencies, as necessary. Providing individual and group counseling as clinically necessary, to address the problem issues identified in the Initial Assessment and Treatment Plans.
