I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Cornell University. I graduated from the University of Alexandria- Egypt and completed a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center- New York. I then joined Weill Cornell University-Westchester inpatient services, and served as the Associate Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship. I am a member in the American Psychiatric Association, American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, and New Jersey Psychiatric Association. I am a member of the Teaching and Training Committee of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. I am also a member of the Geriatric and Psychopharmacology Committees of the New Jersey Psychiatric Association. I achieved ABPN subspecialty certification in geriatric psychiatry. I have been productive in geriatric psychiatry publications and authored numerous case reports, case challenges, CME, review articles, abstracts, and book chapters. I published in prestigious journals including the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, Journal of the American Geriatric Society, Academic Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, and Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. I am a co-director of the "Writing and Career Development Workshop" at Weill Cornell University-Westchester, which assists fellows and junior faculty to publish. I am interested in geriatric psychopharmacology, late-life depression, and cognitive impairments. I teach and supervise geriatric fellows, psychiatry residents and medical students on a daily basis in the inpatient unit. I am a regular lecturer in the didactic curriculum and pioneered the use of quizzes to enhance learning. I received multiple awards from the New Jersey Psychiatric Association for "Best Papers". I also received the "Teacher of the Year" Award, the "Academic Mentorship" Award, and was nominated for the "Physician of the Year" Award.
