Chief Operations and Strategy Officer

Alexis Offen joined Greenwich House in 2021 as the organization’s first Chief Operations and Strategy Officer. Prior to working at Greenwich House, Offen served as Chief Operating Officer at the Trust for Governors Island, significantly expanding public access to the Island and increasing revenue through enhanced amenities and services. Offen led the Trust’s strategic planning and change management across the organization. She previously served in the Bloomberg administration as a senior policy advisor and counsel in the Mayor’s Office, and as a vice president for real estate at Empire State Development. Offen has also worked as an attorney at Greenberg Traurig and in government and community relations at New York University.

Offen holds a BA, cum laude, from Harvard University, where she studied urban politics, and a JD from the Fordham University School of Law. She is a graduate of the Coro New York Leadership Program, a member of WX Women Executives in Real Estate and serves on Riverside Park Conservancy’s Board of Trustees.

Ashley McGuire

Chief Development Officer

Ashley McGuire joined Greenwich House in January 2022 as the organization’s first Chief Development Officer.

McGuire has fifteen years of multi-faceted fundraising and events experience with major cultural and global advocacy organizations.

At Women’s Refugee Commission, she led individual giving and events, raising about $2 million annually in mission-critical unrestricted support, through major giving, individual donors, corporate sponsors and events.

At the Center for Reproductive Rights, McGuire planned and executed events in key cities nationwide, including the annual gala in New York, which raised about $1.2 million annually. Her leadership ensured that events were helping advance organizational strategy by raising funds, and driving consistent and compelling messaging to new audiences in key regions.

McGuire has also worked for The Museum of Modern Art as Manager of Members Programs and Events. There she planned and executed all events for museum members including gallery tours, curatorial discussions, cocktail parties, and expanded benefits to enhance member engagement with the institution.

McGuire obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Economics from Rutgers University.

Laura Langner

Chief Health and Human Services Officer

Laura Langner was appointed the first Chief Health and Human Services Officer at Greenwich House in December 2021. This appointment follows several years of supporting the organization’s leadership and program teams, and several months serving as interim CHHS officer. In this new role, Langner oversees all behavioral health programs as well as senior services.

Langner has more than 35 years of experience in the non-profit and social service industries, including roles in direct service, program administration, and organizational leadership. She also has extensive experience with Federal, State, and City regulatory and programmatic structures.

Langner obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and a Certificate in Executive Management from Columbia University Business School’s Institute for Non-Profit Management.

Management is not only ineffective but retaliates when staff try to address discrimination or policies that are potentially harmful to clients.

The leadership is not only ineffective but (some) are actively cruel. Super toxic environment.

What do you like best about Greenwich House's CEO and the leadership team?

Literally nothing about the CEO or leadership is likable. People get fired for making complaints to HR about discrimination and all the good staff who isn't fired eventually leave.

How would you improve Greenwich House's culture?

Transparency, accountability, new leadership and an ethical HR department would be a crucial first step.

How did you prepare for the Greenwich House interview?

I didn't really need to prepare for the interview.
