Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
* Experience in reviewing/extracting/processing incoming legal and claims documents
* Experience working with scanned/indexed legal and claims documents
* Ability to timely respond to requests from assigned attorneys, claims adjusters, other internal/external business partners for potential rescanning and reindexing of co-mingled/incorrectly indexed documents.
* Experience in identifying co-mingled/incorrectly indexed documents and initiate file/document corrections
* Experience navigating CARE system and Electronic Claims File (ECF)
* Knowledge and familiarity in the identification of legal and claims documents.
* Experience responding timely and accurately to all inquiries, using knowledge of the California Labor Code, California Code of Regulations, Claims Reference Manual, Official Medical Fee Schedule, and State Fund guidelines.
* Ability to identify potential fraud issues in litigation files and refer them to stakeholders

MHS is seeking an experienced full-time certified Paralegal for our Sacramento office. This position includes working directly with partners, associates, and other staff in various aspects of assigned cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing case files, including threatened litigation, administrative charges, and litigation matters.
Corresponding with courts, clients, local counsel, and opposing counsel.
Researching applicable case law, court rules, statutes, and ordinances.
Filing in both state and federal courts and with administrative agencies.
Managing document productions.
Preparing, revising, and formatting pleadings, briefs, correspondence, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
Assisting in preparation for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, and trials.
Coordinating courses of action with supervising attorneys.

Qualifications
California paralegal certification required.
Prior legal experience necessary; employment law background is a plus.
High-quality level of customer service, professionalism, and interpersonal skills (oral and written) as the role requires various interactions with attorneys, courts and administrative agencies, local and opposing counsel, as well as firm clients.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Knowledge of Adobe (or similar) software and ability to create, edit, modify, redact, and protect pdf files.
Experience with document management software - NetDocuments knowledge is a plus.
Must be self-motivated and proactive.
Attention to detail.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
