The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated bi-lingual Pre-litigation Paralegal to be accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with third parties on their behalf. This is an ideal position for a genuine and hospitable individual with the skills to effectively communicate with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds. This role requires strong interpersonal skills where professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity are showcased. A successful candidate for the role will be detail-oriented as maintaining accurate case files is a primary day-to-day function. Success in this role will also require the ability to speak, read and write English and Spanish fluently, phone etiquette, and guest relations skills as they are accountable for providing hospitable and excellent customer service. As a Pre-litigation Paralegal, you must be able to ensure accurate and efficient processing of firm matters through the entire pre-litigation phase of all assigned matters. We are looking for someone who is cheerful, enthusiastic, and solution-driven to ensure our clients receive pleasantly memorable service.
Objective
Serve clients and support the case handling attorney during the prelitigation phase of all assigned matters.
Desired Outcomes
Accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with any third parties on their behalf.
Contact clients at minimum every 20 days to give case updates and check in with client regarding:
How they are doing and if there is anything else we can do to assist them;
Status of medical treatment;
Satisfaction with Laborde Earles' handling of the case.
Contact third parties such as medical providers and insurance companies on behalf of the client.
Accountable to ensure that all matters assigned are handled as quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully as possible from case sign up through disbursal.
Follow the Litify Matter Plan for each matter assigned and complete each task timely, accurately, and completely.
Ensure all data is properly and accurately entered into client management software (Litify).
Organize, save, and file all matter related documents.
Draft, save, mail, fax, and/or email correspondence and supporting documents.
Keep track of cases expenses, including copy and postage charges, entering into client management software (Litify) for each client.
Accountable to provide handling attorney support as requested and as outlined in Litify Tasks.
Timely response and completion of tasks assigned by handling attorney.
Timely completion of all Litify Matter Plan tasks.

* Minimum Associates degree or Certification or Paralegal Studies. Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Minimum 1 year of paralegal or equivalent related legal assistant experience.
* Experience with data management.
* Excellent organizational skills

* Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background information investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management.
* Willingness to work outside of business hours and travel
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior criminal defense experience or experience working with people impacted by the criminal justice system (either as someone accused of a crime, victim of a crime, or family member of either).
