Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is looking for a Manager, Programs Level 1 to support the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Operating Unit. This position will support managing programs within the Sustaining Engineering and Software (SE&S) business area. The primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals. Program Managers are responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs. The Major Projects - Senior Project Manager supports Vistra's nuclear growth initiatives by managing execution of complex nuclear projects, including Extended Power Uprates. The position provides critical project leadership while contributing to Vistra's mission of safe, reliable, and sustainable power generation. The Senior Project Manager is responsible to coordinate with multiple senior leaders, multiple large-scale vendors, and the station to ensure execution of hundreds of separate modifications to the plant in support of Extended Power Uprates, a total cost of $1-2B. This position can be based at one of our nuclear sites in Ohio or Pennsylvania (Perry, Davis-Besse or Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant). Job Description Key Accountabilities Manage execution of Extended Power Uprate projects from design through implementation, ensuring safety, budget, schedule, and quality requirements are met. Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria in coordination with site engineering, licensing, and executive sponsors. Oversee project budgets and resource plans, maintaining strict cost and performance controls. Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, licensing, operations, EPC partners, OEMs) to deliver system upgrades and plant capacity improvements. Identify and manage technical, regulatory, and execution risks to support timely NRC approvals and project milestones. Apply proven project management practices to optimize planning, execution, and outage performance. Provide regular status updates and milestone reporting to project leadership and executive management. Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements At least 10 years of nuclear industry experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles. Proven experience delivering complex projects as a lead project manager or site manager of projects. Strong background in project management, engineering, and construction oversight. Familiarity with finance, project controls, and cost/schedule management. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, and regulators. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to travel as required to support project execution. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. PMP certification required. Professional Engineer (preferred). Key Metrics Safety - 100% compliance with NRC and fleet standards; zero violations. Quality - Deliverables approved with minimal RAIs/corrective actions. Schedule - On-time completion of EPU milestones and outage work. Cost - ≥95% budget adherence with proactive variance control. Regulatory - Timely NRC approvals of LARs and submittals. Integration - Upgrades deliver increased capacity and long-term reliability. Stakeholders - Clear, accurate reporting that builds executive and regulator confidence.
