NASAA company history timeline

1947

The 1947 law also caused far-reaching changes in the military establishment.

1953

Beginning in 1953 the President’s Assistant for National Security Affairs directed this staff.

1975

American Security, LLC was founded in 1975 by Henry Harrison, a retired South Carolina Highway Patrol Sergeant.

1983

The association operated a small business office in Topeka, Kansas, and hired its first executive director in 1983.

1987

NASAA moved its Corporate Office to Washington, D.C. in 1987.

2001

The events of September 11, 2001 demonstrated NORAD’s continued relevance to North American security.

2006

The May 2006 NORAD Agreement renewal added a maritime warning mission, which entails a shared awareness and understanding of the activities conducted in United States and Canadian maritime approaches, maritime areas and inland waterways.

2016
